with a full roster of inspiring entertainment, outlined here. As you know, we made the difficult decision to stop printing Expressions magazine after the June issue,

but you will find the primetime TV lineup and some news from WGCU here. We are committed to continuing our dialogue with you in many ways – through our website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, by phone and regular mail. And although we don’t really want to think about hurricanes, rest assured that as a member of the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network, WGCU FM is THE local source for information before, during and after a major storm. WGCU Wins National Murrow Award for Hurricane Coverage

WGCU FM is proud of its most recent honor: a national Edward R. Murrow award from the Radio Television Digital News Association in the Breaking News category for its coverage during Hurricane Irma.

The RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards are among the most prestigious in broadcast and digital news. 

The Radio Television Digital News Association has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of broadcast and digital journalism.

Food Flirts Make DebutCookbook authors and culinary queens Marilyn and

Sheila Brass are passionate food explorers of a certain age who star in a new six-episode series on PBS.

The Boston-based women “flirt” their way into chefs’ kitchens to uncover ethnically unique and delicious foods, which they then use to experiment with recipes to create cross-cultural mashups like pastrami ramen noodle kugel, baklava crust milk tart, curried golden raisin and cashew rugelach, and “Bunny Chow” pasticcio bread bowls with turmeric hollandaise.

Catch the first episode of the “Food Flirts” brand of unscripted reality on WGCU TV Friday, July 28 at 10 p.m. (re-airs at 10:30 pm). n
