(NCPF’s 2016 Winners)

More about the growers on page one:

Jammie and Kim Piercy, 2016 Win-

ner of the Environmental Grower

Award, own C&C Quick Turn Farm,

a 420-acre farm in Clinton. The farm

has been in the Piercy family since

1740, and is named after their two

children, Carlie and Chase. What

started as a one-cow, one-tractor op-

eration is now a turkey farm that ac-

commodates 42,000 turkeys, and an-

other farm is soon ready to go on line.

Congratulations, Jammie and Kim,

who produce for Prestage Farms.

Richard Kern, a grower for Perdue

Farms, owns and manages Triple Oak

Farm in Randolph County, an active

poultry and cattle farm encompassing

over 200 acres and 4 broiler houses

with a total capacity of 80,000 chick-

ens per flock. The farm not only man-

ages its own poultry litter, but it also

spreads litter over more than 1,000

acres of pasture and crop land for

neighboring farmers.

Donald Grady of the Grady Farm

has been in the poultry business just 5

years. The Gradys own and operate a

48,000 broiler breeder facility in Al-

bertson. They produce for Sanderson

Farms and follow Sanderson’s Grow-

ing Program. The Gradys consistently

exceed peak production numbers: 165

hatching eggs per hen.

NCC News: Chicken consumption

continues to rise in the U.S…

92% purchase chicken regularly.

Among gender, total chicken consump-

tion is split right down the middle—
