After installation, have theelectrician show you where your main ovendisconnect is located.Check with your local utilities for electricalcodes which apply in your area. When installingan electric oven in new construction, a mobilehome, recreational vehicle or an area wherelocal codes prohibit grounding through theneutral conductor, follow the instructions inthe section on NEW CONSTRUCTION ANDFOUR-CONDUCTOR BRANCH CIRCUITCONNECTION.You must use a three-wire, single-phase A.C.208Y/120 Volt or 240/120 Volt, 60 hertzelectrical system. If you connect to aluminumwiring, properly installed connectors approvedfor use with aluminum wiring must be used.

Installation Instructions

Electrical Connections

ATTENTION INSTALLERAll electric wall ovens must be hard wired(direct wired) into an approved junctionbox. A plug and receptacle is NOT permittedon these products.

DO NOT shorten the flexible conduit. The conduit strain relief clamp must besecurely attached to the junction boxand the flexible conduit must be securelyattached to the clamp. If the flexibleconduit will not fit within the clamp, do notinstall the oven until a clamp of the propersize is obtained.

NOTE TO ELECTRICIAN: The 3 powerleads supplied with this appliance areUL recognized for connection to heaviergauge household wiring. The insulationof these 3 leads is rated at temperaturesmuch higher than the temperature ratingof household wiring. The current carryingcapacity of the conductor is governedby the wire gauge and the temperaturerating of the insulation around the wire.

Turn off the circuit breaker or removefuses to the oven branch circuit.

With the oven supported on a table orplatform in front of the cabinet opening, connect the flexible conduit to theelectrical junction box as shown below.Position the conduit in such a mannerthat it will lie on top of the oven ina natural loop when the oven isinstalled. You will need to purchasean appropriate strain relief clamp tocomplete the connection of the conduitto the junction box.

WARNING: Improperconnection of aluminum housewiring to copper leads can

result in an electrical hazard or fire.Use only connectors designed forjoining copper to aluminum and followthe manufacturer’s recommendedprocedure closely.

Electrical Connections cont.

B4 Three-Conductor BranchCircuit Connection

When connecting to a three-conductor branchcircuit, if local codes permit:

a. Connect the bare oven ground conductorwith the crimped neutral (white) lead tothe branch circuit neutral (white or grayin color), using a wire nut.

b. Connect the oven red lead to the branchcircuit red lead in accordance with localcodes, using a wire nut.

c. Connect the oven black lead to the branchcircuit black lead in accordance with localcodes, using a wire nut. If the residencered, black or white leads are aluminumconductors, see WARNING on page 8.

d. Install Junction Box Cover.

B3 New Construction andFour-Conductor BranchCircuit Connection

• When installing in new construction, or

• When installing in a mobile home, or

• When installing in a recreational vehicle, or

• When local codes do not permit groundingthrough neutral:

a. Cut the neutral (white) lead from the crimp.Re-strip the neutral (white) lead to exposethe proper length of conductor.

b. Attach the appliance grounding lead (greenor bare copper) in accordance with localcodes. If the residence grounding conductoris aluminum, see WARNING on page 8.

c. Connect the oven neutral (white) lead tothe branch circuit neutral (white or gray)in accordance with local codes, using awire nut.

d. Connect the oven red lead to the branchcircuit red lead and the oven black lead tothe branch circuit black lead in accordancewith local codes, using wire nuts. If theresidence red, black or white leads arealuminum conductors, see WARNING onpage 8.

WARNING: Mountingscrews must be used. Failure todo so could result in the oven

falling out of the cabinet causingserious injury.

Installation Instructions

Securing the Oven in the OpeningDrilling the Pilot Holes andMounting the Oven

a. Drill through the mounting holes (top andbottom) of the side trim, for the #8 screwsprovided.

b. Secure the oven to cabinet with screwsprovided.

NOTE: If the cabinet is particle board, youmust use #8 x 3/4” particle board screws. These may be purchased at any hardwarestore.

Sliding the Oven Into theOpening

a. Loop (do not tie) a 36” string around theconduit before the oven is slid into place. This will keep the conduit from fallingbehind the oven.

b. Lift oven into cabinet cutout using the ovenopening as a grip. Carefully push againstoven front frame. Do not push againstoutside edges.

c. As you slide the oven back, pull the stringso that the conduit will lie on top of theoven in a natural loop.

d. When you are sure the conduit is out of theway, slide the oven 3/4 way back into theopening. Remove the string by pulling onone end of the loop.

NOTE: Before drilling the pilot holes, make sure the oven is pushed as farback into the opening as it will goand centered.

The screws mustbe a minimum of1/4” from the frontof the cutout.

b. Find the key slot on the back of the trim.

Preparing for the BottomTrim Installation

Installing the MetalBottom Trim

b. Using three trim screws provided, securethe bottom trim to the bottom edge of thecabinet.

IMPORTANT: If this unit is everremoved from the cabinet or the ovenis ever pulled out for service, the trimmust be removed first or damage tothe trim will occur.

d. Push the trim down, at both ends, until itsnaps into place.

c. Match the key slot with the rivet on thebottom of the side trim, and lower the trimonto the rivet.

CAUTION: Be sure youdo not tip the oven forwardduring installation or you may

bend the bottom trim. The bottom trimprovides an opening for cooling air toenter the cabinet. This opening shouldnever be blocked.
