The upper set of holes are intended for usewith an optional backsplash kit. If abacksplash kit is being used, the stabilitybracket can be relocated and put on the sametime as the optional backsplash kit. If thebacksplash is not being used, make sure thatthere are no countertop structural supportsthat will interfere with the stability bracketwhen located in the upper set of holes.

Before placing range in the counter, checkthe factory location of the stability device onthe back of the range. This location shouldwork for most installations. For convenience, you can hook the stability chain in the upperset of holes. Make sure there is no structuralinterference when using the upper setof holes.

1. Decide on a location that has no electricalwiring or plumbing.

2. With the long screw provided, anchor thechain to the floor or wall.

3. Make sure the screw is going into thewall plate or stud at the base of the wallat least 3/4".

4. Attach the stability chain so that it lines upwith the bracket on the back of the range.

5. Tug the chain to make sure it is securelyfastened.

6. Take the packaging tape and temporarilyattach the loose end of the chain to the rearof the countertop.

7. Slide the range into the counter, leavingenough space behind to attach the chainto the bracket.

8. Slip the nearest link of the chain onto thebracket. Pull to make sure it is as snugas possible.

9. Slide the range all the way back. It is normalto have some slack in the chain, but it shouldnot be excessive.

Check for LeaksF2

The range and its individual shut-offvalve must be disconnected fromthe gas supply piping system duringany pressure testing of the gas

supply system at test pressures of morethan 1/2 psig (pounds per square inchgauge). The range must be isolated from the gassupply piping system by closing itsindividual shut-off valve during any pressuretesting of the gas supply system at testpressures equal to or less than 1/2" psig.

The maximum allowable pressure for theregulator is 14" W.C. The minimum pressureneeded to check the regulator setting is 7"W.C. for natural gas.

For proper baking results, the range must be leveled. The height of the range must also beadjusted to the height of the counter. To do this:1. Install the oven racks (see cleaning sections of the Owner’s Manual for instructions and

additional information).2. Use a 1 3/8" open end or adjustable wrench to equally back out the four leg levelers until the

flanges (rims) on the sides of the cooktop are above the top of the counter.3. Place range where it will be installed. Put a spirit level or glass measuring cup partially filled

with water on one of the open racks.4. Use the wrench to adjust the leg levelers.

Adjusting the height of the range to match that of the cabinet heightI1

This gap is very important to the proper ventilation of the range and must be maintained whentreating the appearance of the toe space. The following is a suggested method of making a filler for the toe space when the legs areextended as mentioned before. After the range is installed with the longer legs and is inposition and level, measure from the bottom of the bodysideto the floor. This will be the required height of the toe spacefiller. This height may range from 2 1/16" to 3". Any heightless than 2 1/16" may not be visually objectionable and notneed the filler.

The height of the range must be adjusted to the countertop height. For countertop heights greater than37", additional measurements may need to be taken as detailed below. When the range is elevated to the maximum height, there is a large space between the bottom of therange and the floor, referred to as the toe space. This may be visually objectionable. The legs shouldnot be extended any further than to provide a maximumof 3" toe space. The range is designed to provide a minimum of 1" air gapat the bottom of the range. (Example: When legs arescrewed all the way into the base rail). 3" Max. Height
