Follow the steps on this page only if you have a rain sensor module mounted on your inside rear view mirror.
1. Remove rain sensor by pulling down and remove connector. (Figure 1)

2. Using a round file open up rain sensor
opening for mirror by 0.46mm so the RVS mirror fits. (Figure 2)

3. Loosen the screw that attaches the existing rear view mirror to the windshield mounting button with a T20 Torx driver. (Figure 3) On some models removing the mirror from the windshield can cause damage to the windshield, so it is highly recommended to contact either a Ford dealership or a windshield replacement company. Otherwise slide the mirror upwards and towards the rear to remove it from the windshield.

4. Remove the connector from the mirror.

5. Remove driver’s side dash panel end cap by
pulling away weatherstrip and pull to remove clips from the dash panel. (Figure 5)

6. Remove driver’s side A pillar by pulling with
hands to remove clips from sheet metal. (Figure 6)

7. Remove both sunvisor anchors (either side
of roof console) by removing one screw with a Phillips screw driver. (Figure 7)

8. Remove roof console with hands to remove the clips from the sheet metal. Then remove both connectors. (Figure 8)

9. Pry mirror apart with a screwdriver. (Figure
9).

10. Remove the PC board from the mirror by
disengaging both connectors. (Figure 10)

11. Wrap the mirror PC board in the supplied
foam pieces and cut a hole for the connector terminals. (Figure 11)

12. Remove the separate compass module from
the vehicle’s inside mirror by sliding it downwards. (Figure 12)

16. Wrap the PC board in the supplied foam
piece and cut a hole for the connector terminals. (Figure 16)

17. Plug the separate compass module
connector into the PC board. (Figure 17)

18. Install the compass module PC board
between underneath the headliner as shown in Figure 18. The connector should face upwards, rearwards and to the right.

19. Route the supplied interior harness under
leading edge of the driver’s side headliner by gently separating the headliner from the windshield and tucking the harness into the gap with your fingers. (Figure 19)
19b.Route the supplied interior harness down the driver’s side A pillar. (Figure 19)

so that the two clips are disengaged from the sheet metal. (See Figures 21 and 22)

19e.Wire the supplied interior harness to the right kick panel connector wires listed in Diagrams A, B,
C, D, E, F, G and H using a soldering iron by following the next three steps (a, b and c). Note: Tape the seven wires at the black connector end of the interior harness and the red and yellow wires at the white connector end of the interior harness back using electrical tape, as they will not be used in this installation process.
a. Route the supplied interior harness green, pink and black wires along the vehicle’s cross dash harness as shown in Figure 23 (using wire ties wherever possible at 2 inch intervals). Place the black ground wire eyelet from the supplied interior harness white connector end between the screw and the sheet metal in the passenger’s side kick panel are as shown in Figure 23 using a 8mm socket.

b. Splice the green reverse wire from the supplied interior harness white connector end to
the wire listed in Diagram A depending on your vehicle year and model. Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
c. Splice the pink ignition wire from the supplied interior harness white connector end to the wire listed in Diagram A depending on your vehicle year and model. Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
19f.Reinstall passenger’s side kick panel and passenger’s side sill panel with hands.

Follow the steps on this page only if you have an auto dimming inside rear view mirror without Sync.
19g.Connect the supplied interior harness to the vehicle’s mirror harness using the supplied T taps by
the following the next five steps (d, e, f, g and h) and diagram I. Note: Tape the red and yellow wires at the black connector end of the interior harness and all five wires at the white connector end of the interior harness back using electrical tape, as they will not be used in this installation process.
d. Connect the black ground wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 4 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9044 per Diagram I).
e. Connect the green reverse wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 9 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9044 per Diagram I).
f. Connect the pink ignition wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 1 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9044 per Diagram I).
g. Connect the orange positive auto dimming wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 11 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9044 per Diagram I). Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
h. Connect the white negative auto dimming wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 15 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9044 per Diagram I).

Follow the steps on this page only if you have an auto dimming inside rear view mirror with built in Sync microphone.
19h.Connect the supplied interior harness to the vehicle’s mirror harness using the supplied T taps by
the following the next ten steps (i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q and r) and Diagram J. Note: Tape black, green and pink wires at the white connector end of the interior harness back using electrical tape, as they will not be used in this installation process.
i. Connect the black ground wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 10 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9012 per Diagram J).
j. Connect the green reverse wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 3 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9012 per Diagram J).
k. Connect the pink ignition wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 1 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9012 per Diagram J).
l. Connect the orange positive auto dimming wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 8 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9012 per Diagram J).
m. Connect the white negative auto dimming wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 7 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9012 per Diagram J).
n. Connect the red positive compass wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 6 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9012 per Diagram J).
o. Connect the yellow negative compass wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 2 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector using supplied T taps (C9012 per Diagram J).
p. Splice the yellow open wire from the microphone harness (supplied separately) to the wire in pin 5 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram J). Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
q. Splice the black ground wire from the microphone harness (supplied separately) to the wire in pin 10 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram J). Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
r. Splice the blue 12V positive wire from the microphone harness (supplied separately) to the wire in pin 4 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram J). Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
s. Place the microphone in a convenient place (A pillar) on headliner.

19i.Wire the supplied interior harness to the vehicle’s mirror harness using a soldering iron by the
following the next seven steps (t, u, v, w, x, y and z) and Diagrams K and L. Note: Tape black, green and pink wires at the white connector end of the interior harness back using electrical tape, as they will not be used in this installation process process.
t. Connect the black ground wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire listed in either Diagram K (pin 2) or L (pin 3) depending on your vehicle make and model using supplied T taps.
u. Connect the green reverse wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire listed in either Diagram K (pin 3) or L (pin 2) depending on your vehicle make and model using supplied T taps.
v. Connect the pink ignition wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire listed in either Diagram K (pin 1) or L (pin 1) depending on your vehicle make and model using supplied T taps.
w. Connect the orange positive auto dimming wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire listed in either Diagram K (pin 4) or L (pin 4) depending on your vehicle make and model using supplied T taps.
x. Connect the white negative auto dimming wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire listed in either Diagram K (pin 5) or L (pin 5) depending on your vehicle make and model using supplied T taps.
y. Connect the red positive compass wire from the supplied interior harness black connector end to the wire in pin 6 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (Connector 911 per Diagram L) using supplied T taps.

20. Reinstall both sunvisor anchors with their screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
21. Reinstall roof console by engaging both connectors and inserting back into the headliner until all clips are seated.
22. Plug the supplied interior harness connector into the back of the supplied mirror. (Figure 24)

23. Install the supplied mirror by placing over the windshield mounting button and sliding it forward. Use a T20 Torx driver to tighten the screw on the mirror mount.
24. If equipped, reengage rain sensor connector to rain sensor and seat modified rain sensor to the supplied mirror base.
25. Reinstall A pillar while routing the supplied interior harness above A pillar clips.
26. Cut off the connector from the vehicle’s mirror harness leaving enough wire on the connector end to splice onto. (Figure 25)

27. Using a soldering iron, splice the black
ground wire from the supplied interior harness white connector end to the either wire from pin 3 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C911 per Diagram I) or the wire from pin 10 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram H) depending on your vehicle’s mirror . Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
28. Using a soldering iron, splice the green reverse wire from the supplied interior harness white connector end to the either wire from pin 2 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C911 per Diagram I) or the wire from pin 3 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram H) depending on your vehicle’s mirror . Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
29. Using a soldering iron, splice the pink ignition wire from the supplied interior harness white connector end to the either wire from pin 1 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C911 per Diagram I) or the wire from pin 1 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram H) depending on your vehicle’s mirror . Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
30. Using a soldering iron, splice the red positive compass wire from the supplied interior harness white connector end to the either wire from pin 6 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C911 per Diagram I) or the wire from pin 6 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram H) depending on your vehicle’s mirror . Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
31. Using a soldering iron, splice the yellow negative compass wire from the supplied interior harness white connector end to the either wire from pin 7 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C911 per Diagram I) or the wire from pin 2 of the vehicle’s mirror harness connector (C9012 per Diagram H) depending on your vehicle’s mirror . Cover
the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink.
32. Plug connector into the mirror PC board. (Figure 26)

39. Remove driver’s side sill plate with a trim tool. (Figure 31)

40. Loosen driver’s side A pillar lower molding with hands and then remove driver’s side lower kick panel with hands so that the two clips are disengaged from the sheet metal (Figure 32).
