System Requirements

Macintosh® HTDM, RTAS

A Digidesign® qualified G3 or G4 Power Macintosh® (G4 suggested) run-ning Pro Tools®|24 MIX™, Pro Tools®|24 MIX Plus™, Pro Tools®|24 Mix(with Pro Tools™ software 5.1 or later), Pro Tools |HD (with Pro Toolssoftware 5.3 or later), ProTools® LE with Digi 001™ or AudioMedia™ III(with Pro Tools™ software 5.0 or later), M-Box (with Pro Tools LE software5.2 or later). Qualified ATA/IDE or SCSI drive, 128 MB RAM (256 MB sugge-sted), Apple® System software version 9.0 or later, Apple® Mac OS X 10.2.4or later.

Windows® RTAS

A Digidesign® qualified Intel Pentium® III or IV (Pentium IV suggested) orAMD Athlon systems running Pro Tools®|24 MIX, Pro Tools®|24 MIX Plus,Pro Tools®|24 Mix (with Pro Tools software 5.3.1 or later), Pro Tools®|HD(with Pro Tools software 5.3.1 or later) ProTools® LE with Digi 001 or 002(with Pro Tools software 5.3.1 or later). Windows 2000 Professional SP2 isrequired for Pro Tools®|MIX systems, Windows XP home or professionaledition is required for Pro Tools®|HD, Digi 001 or Digi 002 systems.Windows 98SE or ME can also be used with the Digi 001 but only using ProTools software 5.1.1. 128 MB Ram (256 MB suggested).

Macintosh® VST

Power Macintosh® G3 or G4 with MacOS 8.6 or later system software (theVST version is not Mac OS X compatible), 64 MB RAM. Screen settings:800x600, thousands of colors, 20 MB of free hard disk space. Suggested:Power Macintosh® G4 with 256 MB RAM and 1024x768 screen. An ASIOcard is recommended for low latency real time play. Optimized for G4.

Windows® DX, VST

Intel® Pentium® III or IV with Windows® 95, 98, ME, NT™ 4.0, 2000, XP,64 MB RAM. Screen settings: 800x600, high colors (16 bit), 20 MB of freehard disk space. Suggested: Intel® Pentium® IV with 256MB RAM and1024x768 screen. An ASIO card is recommended for low latency real timeplay. Optimized for Pentium® III and IV.

Macintosh® and Windows® Sequencers and Editors

Sequencers and sound editors compatible with VST® plug-ins or DX plug-ins, such as Cubase VST® PC version 3.7.2 or Mac version 4.1.1, (or later),Logic™ Audio PC and Mac version 4.5 (or later), Digital Performer (*usingVST wrapper: www.audioease.com), Sonar 2.2 (or later), Sound Forge 5 (orlater), Cool Edit Pro 2 (or later), Peak 2.0 (or later).

Installation

Macintosh® – installation notes

Double-click on the Install T-RackS VST icon to install T-RackS® VST in MacOS. The installer will ask you to select a VstPlugIns folder: this must be yoursequencer's default folder for VST plug-ins. Documentation for T-RackS®will be placed in the root folder of your system disk.

Double-click on the Install T-RackS for Pro Tools icon to install T-RackS®HTDM – RTAS in Mac OS and Mac OS X. Documentation for T-RackS® willbe placed in the root folder of your system disk.

Uninstallation: run the installer application again, this time selecting the'Uninstall' mode.

You may have to manually delete some files:

T-RackS® VST files are in the default VstPlugIns folder.The files TrackS.vpa and TrackS.xrs, and the T-RackS Presets are in theExtensions folder.

In Mac OS, T-RackS® RTAS-HTDM files are in the folders:System : DAE : Plug-insSystem : DAE : Plug-in Settings

In Mac OS X, T-RackS® RTAS-HTDM files are in the folders:Library : Application Support : Digidesign : Plug-InsLibrary : Application Support : Digidesign : Plug-In Settings

Windows® – installation notes

Double-click the Setup.exe application to start the installer.The installer will guide you through the rest of the procedure.

Uninstallation: run the installer again, and select the 'Remove' option.

Authorization

Until it's authorized, T-RackS® will work in demo mode.To authorize T-RackS® you need three codes:

Serial NumberThe serial number is printed on the registration card included in the package.

Digital IDThe Digital ID is a code generated by T-RackS® and it is displayed in theauthorization window every time you start a not authorized version of T-RackS®. It is unique to each computer system.

Authorization CodeThis is the final code that you can immediately obtain online with yourSerial Number and Digital ID.

Follow this procedure to authorize your T-RackS®:

1) Write down carefully (or copy) your Digital ID.

This must be the Digital ID of the system where you are planning to installand use T-RackS®.Note that Digital ID and Authorization Code have no letters I and O. Thoseyou might see are actually numbers: one and zero, respectively.

2) Launch your browser and connect to the T-RackS® registration page:

Your browser needs to support frames and Javascript; all recent versions ofNetscape Navigator and Internet Explorer will suffice. You will access the T-RackS® registration form.

3) Fill in all required fields, including your Serial Number and Digital ID. Allcodes should be entered in capital letters. Remember to include a workinge-mail address: it will be used to send your Authorization Code. PressSubmit.

4) Open your e-mail client software and check for new mail in the addressyou've just inserted in the registration form. You will shortly receive a mes-sage confirming your registration and giving you an Authorization Code.

Important: in this same message you will also find a login id that will grantaccess to your personal area on our web site. Use this login whenever youneed additional authorizations as well as to obtain downloads or contacttechnical support.

5) If you had closed your applications, launch T-RackS® again. Otherwise,just return to the authorization window.

6) Type carefully your Serial Number in the Serial Number field in theauthorization window.

7) Type carefully your Authorization Code in the Authorization Code field inthe authorization window.

8) Press OK. If all information has been entered correctly, T-RackS® willnow be authorized. Remember to write down your Authorization Code.

If you use a different computer for music and for the internet, just notedown the Digital ID, move on to your internet computer and use it to visitthe registration page, fill in the registration form (with the Digital ID copiedfrom the other system), and get the e-mail confirming your registration.Then note down the Authorization Code, return to your music computer andcomplete the procedure.

If you have no access to the internet in the T-RackS® CD you will find aPDF file called Authorization Code Request Form. Open the file (withAcrobat Reader), print the form, fill in the required fields and faxeverything to +39-59-2861671 to receive your Authorization Code within24 hours of your fax (standard European business hours). Please writeclearly: if we can't decipher the codes, we won't be able to generate aworking Authorization Code.

If you have no access to a fax machine fill in the aforementionedAuthorization Code Request Form and mail it to this address:
