SynteractHCR VPN – Global ProtectInstallation and User Guide

Installation

To connect to the SynteractHCR VPN you will need to download the Global Protect Client from http://support.synteracthcr.com.

1. Navigate to https://support.synteracthcr.com and click “Downloads” on the left side of the page.

2. Select the VPN client for your computer.a. Windows 32 bit OS needs to download and install Windows 32 bit VPN Client.b. Windows 64 bit OS needs to download and install Windows 64 bit VPN Client.c. Mac OS needs to download and install Mac 32/64 bit VPN Client.

3. Click Run when prompted

4. Click Run again if prompted

5. Select Next 

6. Select Next

7. Select Next to start the installation

8. Select Close to complete the installation

Connecting to the VPN

After installing the VPN client you will need to add your username, password, and VPN portal to connect to the VPN.

1. Type your Syncorp username and password in the appropriate fields2. Type vpn.synteracthcr.com for the portal address3. Click Apply

4. Click continue when prompted for Server Certificate Error

5. Once you are connected to the SynteractVPN you will get a welcome page

When you are successfully connected to the SynteractHCR VPN you will also see the status shown as “Connected” in the VPN client. This window can be closed at any time when without disconnecting the VPN.

If you wish not to see the welcome message again you can click the box in the lower right corner of the welcome page “Do not display this page again.”

You can get to the welcome page at any time when connected to the VPN by right clicking on the GlobalProtect icon in the system tray

Connecting to the VPN

You can connect to the VPN at any time you have an internet connection. To connect to the VPN use the Global Protect icon in your system tray or launch the Global Protect client from your Start Menu.

System Tray1. Right click on the system tray icon and click “Connect”

Start Menu1. Go to Start | All Programs | Select Global Protect

Disconnecting from the VPN

You can disconnect for the VPN at any time. You can do this from the system tray icon or the VPN client itself.

System Tray1. Right Click on the Global Protect icon in the system tray | Choose Disconnect

VPN Client1. Open the VPN Client by clicking the Global Protect system tray icon

2. Select File | Disconnect

When disconnected you will notice the Global Protect Icon in the system tray changes
