I. INSTALLATIONWARNING

The installation must be carried out by qualified personnel,in accordancewith current regulations, according to themanufacturer’sinstructions.

2. UNPACKING AND LOCATION

CAUTION1.Toprevent injury,wearworkglovesandhold thebottom

paneltocarrytheunit.Workinapairorgroup.

2.The location shouldprovidea firmand level foundationfor theequipment to avoid the risk ofwater leaksor injurycausedbyoverturnorfall.

3.Topreventpossibledamageor injury,donothold thebeertaptocarrytheunit.

4.This unit is not intended for outdoor use.Exposure to rainmaycauseelectricleakageorshock.

1)Inspect thepackage for damage.Anyextensivedamage foundshouldbereportedtothecarrier.

2)Afterremovingthepackaging,removetheprotectiveplasticfilm.

3)Checktheexteriorandinteriorpartsfordamage.

IMPORTANT1.Normaloperatingambienttemperatureshouldbewithin41°

F(5°C)to95°F(35°C).

2.Avoidasitewheredripping isnotallowed. Inhighhumidityconditions, condensationon theexteriormaydrip onto theinstallationsurfacesorfloor.

3.Theunitshouldnotbelocatednexttoovens,grillsorotherhighheatproducingequipment.

4.Allow5 cmclearanceat rear and sides for proper aircirculation.Otherwise the coolingperformancemay reduceandelectricitycostswillincrease.

5.Donotremovethelabels.

3. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

CAUTION1.Theunitmusthaveaseparatepowersupply.Branchingoff

thepowercord,usinganextensioncord,orsharingasinglepower supplywith other appliancesmay result in electricshock,heatgenerationorfire.

2.Theconnectionsmustbecarriedoutbyqualifiedpersonnelinaccordancewiththisinstructionmanual.

3.Themaximumallowablevoltagevariationshouldnotexceed±10percentof thenameplate rating.Operationof theunitoutsideof this rangemaycausesmoking, ignition,damagetotheunitorreductionoftheperformance.

IMPORTANT1.Checkthat thepowercord isnotcaughtbytheunit legsor

weigheddownwithheavyobjects.

2.Unplug theunitbyholding theattachmentplug.Topreventdamage,donotjerkthepowercord.

3.Donotpluginorunplugtheunitwithwethands.

[a] CO2 GAS CYLINDER

1)OpenthemainvalveofthenewCO2gascylinderforasecondtosplashmoistureanddustfromthejoint.(Keepyourfaceawayfromthecylinder.)

2)Checktheregulatorgasket.Ifitisoutofpositionordamaged,gasmayleakout.

3)Install the regulator on theCO2gas cylinder.Tighten thenutsecurelytoatorqueof5.9lbf•ft(8N•m)sothatthelevelgaugewillbeupright.

4)Openthemainvalve,andcheckthenutforgasleak(sound).Ifgasisleaking,retightenthenut.

5)Afterfinishingtheconnections,turntheadjustdialtoensureproperpressureaslistedbelow.

4. PLUMBING CONNECTIONS

IMPORTANTTo sell draft keg beer, prepare and install the followingequipmentaccordingtotheinstructionsbelow.

IMPORTANT1.Handletheregulatorwithcaretohavenoimpactonit,orthe

pressuregaugemaynotreadaccurately.

2.StandtheCO2gascylinderupright,andfix itsecurelywiththeaccessorychain.

3.Keep theCO2gas cylinder away fromdirect sunlight ortemperaturesabove104°F(40°C).

[c] EXTERNAL CO2 GAS LINE

1)Determine thepositionsof theCO2gascylinderandbeerkeg tomakethegashoselengthwithin4.6feet(1.4m).

2)Cutthegashosetohaveaverticalcuttingplane.

3)Insert thegashose into thequick joints on the keg coupler andregulator.Pullthehosehardtocheckfortightconnections.

4)Usetheadjustdialtocheckforgasleaks.

IMPORTANT1.Cutthegashosewithaspecializedtoolsuchashosecutter.

Donot use scissors, or thegashosemaybe crushed tocausegasleaks.

2.Donotdisconnectandreinsertthegashose.Cutitabout0.8inch(20mm)beforereuse.

3.Cut thehoseendvertically, insert it securely into thequickjoints,andcheckforgasleaks.

[d] EXTERNAL BEER LINE

1)Attach theO-ringP10A (accessory) on thebeer hoseadapter(accessory),andinstallitonthebeerinlet.

2)Attach thebeer hose joint specifiedby thebeer companyon thebeerhoseadapter.

3)Determine thepositionsof thebeer hose joint andbeer keg tomakethebeerhoselengthwithin6.9feet(2.1m).

4)Cutthebeerhosetohaveaverticalcuttingplane.

5)Insert thebeer hose into thequick joints on the keg couplerandquickbeer hose joint.Pull thehosehard to check for tightconnections.

IMPORTANT1.Cut thebeer hosewith a specialized tool suchashose

cutter.Donotusescissors,orthebeerhosemaybecrushedtocausebeerleaks.

2.Donotdisconnectandreinsertthebeerhose.Cutitabout0.8inch(20mm)beforereuse.

3.Cut thehoseendvertically, insert it securely into thequickjoints,andcheckforbeerleaks.

5. TRIAL RUN

[a] HOW TO MAKE COOLING WATER

IMPORTANTCarefullyreadthisbeforefillingthewatertank.

Electric conductivity (E.C.) of cooling water for water tank (not for cleaning tank)Donotusetapwater.Fillthewatertankwithwaterhaving100-300μS/cmofE.C.Measuretheelectricconductivitywithconductivitymeter.

*E.C.:Physicalpropertytoshowtheabilityofconductingelectricity. Unit:μS/cm(microsiemens)

Below100μS/cm:Compressormaynotworkresultinginpoorcoolingperformance.

Above300μS/cm:Excessiveicemaybuilduponevaporatorandfreezebeerinsidebeercoilpreventingbeerfrombeingdispensedproperly.

How to make cooling water with 100-300 μS/cm of E.C.The capacity of thewater tank (not cleaning tank) of this unit isapprox.2.5gal.(10L).Make the coolingwater bydissolving1/16oz. (2g) of purebakingsoda(byARM&HAMMER)inapprox.2.5gal.ofdistilledwater.

Step 1Measure1/16oz.ofpurebakingsodawithnozzlecap(accessory).

Step 2Fillabucketwithapprox.2.5gal.ofdistilledwaterandstirwellafteraddingthe1/16oz.ofbakingsodameasuredinstep1.UseaconductivitymeterifmeasuringE.C.Rinsethenozzlecapafteruse.

[b] COOLING WATER SUPPLY

IMPORTANTFillthewatertankslowlynottospillwater.

1)Unplugtheunit.

2)Removethetopcover.

3)Inserttheaccessoryfunnelintothepipeatthetopoffrontcover.

4)Use theaccessorymeasuring cup to pour the coolingwater intothewatertank[approx.2.5gal.(10L)].

5)Check thatwater comesout of theoverflowhose.Then stoppouringwater.

6)Removethefunnel,andrefitthetopcover.

7)Plugintheunit.

[c] CHECKS AFTER INSTALLATION

* Normaloperatingambienttemperatureshouldbewithin41°F(5°C)to 95°F (35°C), andbeer keg temperaturewithin 50°F (10°C) to86°F(30°C).Operationoutsideofthesenormaltemperaturerangesmayaffectperformance.

* Be sure to use tapwaterwith a turbidity level of notmore than2.Useofwellwater or other non-tapwater ormixturewith salt,vinegar, or juicemay cause inadequate ice storage, corrosion, orholes.

* Thebeer circuit hasbeen cleanedbefore shipping.But clean itagainbeforestartinguptheunit,andcheckforproperinstallationofeachpart.

* Checkthepowercordandhosesbeforestartinguptheunit.

IMPORTANT1.Donot install theunitwhereexposed to humidity orwater

splashes.

2.Donotremovethetopcoverorcarrytheunitwithwethands.

3.Besuretounplugtheunitbeforeremovingthetopcoverforcleaningorinspection.

4.Donotattempttodisassemble,repair,ormodifytheunit.

II. OPERATION

1. CHECKS BEFORE OPERATION (DAILY)

[a] CHECKS AND REPLACEMENT OF CO2 GAS CYLINDER

1)ClosethemainvalveoftheCO2gascylinder.

2)Adjusttheregulatorto“0”.

3)RemovetheemptyregulatorfromtheCO2gascylinder.

4)Followthesteps1)to4)in“I.4.[a]CO2GASCYLINDER”.

IMPORTANTCarryaCO2gascylinderwithoutshaking.

[b] CHECKS AND REPLACEMENT OF BEER KEG

IMPORTANT1.Toprevent excessive foaming, donot roll or shakeabeer

keg.Handleitwithcare.

2.Excessive foaming is causedbyanearly empty beer keg.Replaceitwithanewkegassoonaspossible.

3.Whenabeerkegbecomescompletelyempty,CO2gaswillblowoutofthebeertapandsplashbeer.

4.Donotstoreanopenbeerkeginarefrigerator.Keepitunder86°F(30°C).

1)Closethebeercircuit.Unlockandliftthekegcouplerhandleallthewayup.

2)Turntheregulatoradjustdialcounterclockwiseto“0”.

3)Turnthekegcouplercounterclockwise,andremoveitfromthekeg.

4)Attachthekegcoupleronthenewkegbyturningitclockwise.

IMPORTANT1.Washthekegjointwithwaterifnecessary.

2.Donotloosentheferruleonthekeg.

5)Turn the regulator adjust dial clockwise to theappropriategaspressurelevelspecifiedbythebeercompany.

6)Open thebeer circuit.Pushdown the keg coupler handle until itlocksinplace.

7)Beforedispensingbeer,leadbeertothebeertapaccordingto“2.[b]LEADINGBEERTOTAP”.

2. DISPENSING

[a] BEER TAP OPERATION

1)Todispensebeer,pull thebeer tap leverquicklytowardyouuntilitstops.Movingtheleverslowlyor stopping it on thewaywill causeexcessivefoaming.

2)Tostopbeer,movethebeertapleverquicklybacktoitsoriginalposition.

3)Todispense foam,push thebeer tap lever hardtoward theunit fromthestopposition.Tostop foam,movetheleverbacktoitsoriginalposition.

[b] LEADING BEER TO TAP

1)Check that the regulator adjust dial is set to theappropriatepressurespecifiedbythebeercompany.

2)Check that thebeer tap lever isclosed.Opening thekegcouplerwiththebeertapleveropenwillcausebeertosplashout.

3)Openthekegcoupler.

4)Set amug to receivebeer, andpush thebeer tap lever hard totheback(foamposition).Keeppushingittodispensefoam.Whenthemugishalffilledwithfoam,movetheleverbacktoitsoriginalpositiontostopfoam.

5)Waitformorethan1minuteafterstep4)tosettlebeerinthecircuit.

6)Set anothermug, andpull thebeer tap lever toward you todispensebeer.Keepdispensingbeeruntilfoamturnsintoliquid.

7)Checkthekegcouplerandkegconnectionandthebeerhosejointsforbeerleaks.

IMPORTANTFrequently dumpwater andbeer from thedrainpan.Thecoolingwaterinthewatertankwillincreaseinvolumebytakingmoisturefromtheair,andcomeoutthroughtheoverflowhoseintothedrainpan.Ifleftasitis,waterwillflowoutofthedrainpanontothefloor.

[c] DISPENSING BEER

1)Tiltacleanmugatanangleof45°,andplace its inner surface in contactwiththeliquidnozzleofthebeertap.

2)Pull thebeer tap lever toward you todispensebeerovertheinnersurfaceofthemug.

3)Afterdispensingaspecificamountofbeer,movethebeertapleverbacktoitsoriginalpositiontostopbeer.

4)Toadd foam,push thebeer tap leverto theback.Foamwill keep comingoutof the foamnozzleof thebeer tapwhiletheleverispushed.Tostopfoam,move the lever back to its originalposition.

IMPORTANTIf thebeer circuit is not flushedwith beer remainingon thebeer tap, thevalveshaft jams inside thebeer tap, resulting inunavailable,unstable,orcontinuousdispensingactions.Inthiscase,disassembleandcleanthebeertapinaccordancewith“III.5.BEERTAP(EVERY10DAYS)”.

[d] END OF OPERATION

1)Closethekegcoupler,andremoveitfromthekeg.Flushthebeercircuit according to “III. 1.BEERCIRCUIT (DAILY)” and “III. 4.BEERCIRCUIT(EVERY10DAYS)”.

2)Turntheregulatoradjustdialcounterclockwiseto“0”.

3)ShutofftheCO2gascylinderbyturningthemainvalveclockwise.

4)Wipemoisture from thenozzleend.Wash thenozzle cap clean,and fit it on thenozzle.Thenozzle capmust be removedandstoredinacleanplaceduringoperation.

IMPORTANT1.TopreventexcessivemixtureofCO2gas indraftkegbeer,

besure toclose themainvalveof theCO2gascylinderattheendofoperation.

2.Theaccessorynozzle capprotects thebeer tapnozzleagainst dust or insectswhile thedispenser is not used.Alwayscapthenozzleattheendofoperation.

3.When the keg coupler on the keg is closed, gasmay stayinside thebeer circuit.Toprevent excessive foamingorimproperdispensingactions, leadbeer into thebeercircuituntilgascomesoutofthebeertapbeforestartingoperationonthefollowingday.

III. MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT1.After closing time, be sure to carry out the following

maintenanceprocedures.

2.Follow themaintenance instructionsbelowwheneverconsiderednecessary.

3. Incleaningoperations,becarefulnottoloseanyparts.Theunitwillleakwaterorfailtodispenseproperly.

4.Alwaysuse cleanhandsand cloths to conduct cleaningoperations.

5.Asa sanitizer, useamixtureofwarmwater [86 - 104°F(30 - 40°C)] and0.34 fl. oz. (10mL) of 10% invert soap(benzalkonium chloride). Before using the sanit izer,thoroughlyreadtheinstructionsprovided.

6.Toprevent damage to theplastic surfaces, donot usethinner,benzine,petroleum,soappowder,polishingpowder,alkalinedetergent, scrubbrush,andespeciallycleanser foruseonfansandcookingranges.Also,topreventcorrosion,donotuseachlorinebleach(sodiumhypochlorite).

1. BEER CIRCUIT (DAILY)

1) Closethekegcoupler,anddischargebeerandCO2gasfromthecircuit.

2) Removethecapontheunit.Disconnectthekegcouplerfromthekeg,andreconnectittotheadapterontheunit.

3) Fillthemeasuringcupwith0.48gal.(1.8L)oftapwater.

4) Open the top cover, andpour theabovewater into the cleaningtank.Closethetopcover.

5) Placethemeasuringcupunderthebeertap,andpullthebeertaplevertowardyou.Presstheflush/stopswitch.Theflushlampisonintheflushmode.Theflushmodewillbecompletedautomaticallyin90seconds.

2. BEER TAP (DAILY)

1) Loosentheunionnutofthebeertapby turning it clockwise, andremovethebeertap.

2) Pull the tap lever, and run tapwaterthroughthebeertap.

3) Refitthebeertapbyturningtheunionnutcounterclockwise.

3. DRAIN PAN (DAILY)

Wipethedrainpansurfacesbyusingaclothcontainingwarmwater[86 - 104°F (30 - 40°C)]with invert soap.After 3minutes,wipeoffanyremainingsoapwithacleanclothcontainingcoldorwarmwater.Cleanthedrainpanwhenevernecessary.

1) Remove thedrainboard, and lift thedrainpan to release itsmountingholes from themountingscrews.Becarefulnot tospillwaterandbeercollectedinthedrainpan.

2) Dumpwater andbeer, andwash thedrainboardanddrainpanwithtapwater.

3) Lift thedrain pan to hook themounting holes on themountingscrews,andsetthedrainboardonthedrainpan.

4) Check that theoverflowhosegoes through thehole in thedrainboardandcandrainwaterintothedrainpan.

4. BEER CIRCUIT (EVERY 10 DAYS)

7) Open the top cover, andpour theabovewater into the cleaningtank.Closethetopcover.

8) Place themeasuring cupunder thebeer tap.Press the flush/stopswitch.Theflushmodewillbecompletedautomaticallyin90seconds.

9) Repeatsteps6)to8)atleastthreetimes.

10) Uselitmuspapertocheckforresidualchlorine.

5. BEER TAP (EVERY 10 DAYS)

IMPORTANTDisassembleandcleanthebeertaptopreventremainingbeerfromdripping.

1) Closethebeercircuitbeforeflushing.

2) Turntheregulatoradjustdialcounterclockwiseto“0”.

3) Pull thebeer tap lever toward you to dispensebeer remainingin the circuit. Loosen theunionnut of thebeer tapby turning itclockwise,andremovethebeertap.

4) Loosenthecapnutofthebeertap,andremovethelever.

5) Removethevalveshaftfromthebeertap.

6) Cleanthebeertapandvalveshaftbyusinganeutraldishwashingdetergentandtheaccessorycleaningbrush.

7) Usetheaccessorybrushtocleanthetwosmallholesinthebeertap.

8) Rinsethebeertapthoroughlywithcleanwater.

9) Assemblethebeertapproperlybypositioningtheholeinthevalveshaft(largerholefacingup).

6. EXTERIOR (WEEKLY)

The stainless steel exterior alsoneeds cleaning to prevent possiblecorrosion.Wipewithasoftcloth.Useasoftdampclothcontaininganeutraldishwashingdetergenttowipeoffdirtbuildup,andremoveanyremainingdetergent.Cleantheexteriorwhenevernecessary.

1) Removethedrainpan.

3) Wash theair filterwith coldwater orwarmwater containinganeutral dishwashingdetergent.Be careful not to break thenet.Afterusingadetergent,rinsetheairfilterthoroughly.Dry it intheshade.

4) Fittheairfilterintothefilterguideatthebottom,andslideittotheback.

5) Refitthedrainpan.

IMPORTANT1.When theair filter is cloggedwith dirt anddust, theunit

cannotoperateproperly.

2.Donot operate theunitwith theair filter removed.Thecondenserwillclogeasily.

3.Toprevent deformation, donotwash theair filterwith hotwaterabove104°F(40°C).

4.Donothitordropthedrainpanandairfilterwhilecleaningthem.

IV. INSPECTION

1. GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER (MONTHLY)

CAUTIONCheck theground fault circuit interrupter for proper operationonceamonth.Ifitisleftinoperable,itcouldincreasetheriskofelectricshockincaseofgroundfault.

1) Pressthetestbuttononthegroundfaultcircuitinterrupter(GFCI).

2) CheckthattheGFCIswitchesoff.

3) If theGFCIdoesnot switchoff,unplug theunit, and immediatelycontact anauthorizedHoshizakiservicecompany.

2. GAS HOSE AND BEER HOSE (MONTHLY)

Check thegasandbeerhoses fordamage,deformation,andwaterleaks. If anyproblem is found, contact anauthorizedHoshizakiservicecompany.

3. ATTACHMENT PLUG AND POWER CORD (ANNUALLY/BIANNUALLY)

CAUTION1.Checkperiodically that theattachment plugbladesand

theirvicinityarefreeofdustandthattheattachmentplugissecurelypluggedintothereceptacle.Dustybladesor looseconnectionmaycauseelectricshockorfire.
