Instructions for Completing the COED-Faculty

Calibration Training Canvas Page

These instruction apply for anyone completing the 1) edTPA calibration or 2) the

dispositions calibration. Please read carefully. Not all directions apply to both

modules.

1. After receiving your email invitation to join the Calibration site from

COED Assessment, log into Canvas: https://uncc.instructure.com/

2. On the dashboard, click on the COED-Faculty Calibration Training Page.

3. Read the Welcome Page.

NOTE: ALL Faculty members will be completing a Non-Disclosure

Statement.

4. Click on the assessment you are completing the calibration module for

6. Follow the steps provided. Note that Step 1 is to complete the Non-

Disclosure Statement agreement by clicking on the blue Non-Disclosure

7. The Non-Disclosure “Quiz” will appear.

8. Click on the Take the Quiz button to continue to the Non-Disclosure

Statement.

9. A pop up window will appear stating that once you submit an answer,

you will not be able to change it later.

10. Click on the Begin Button.

11. Read the statement and then click on the “I agree to the above

statement".

12. Click on Submit Quiz.

13. You should see a 1 out of 1 on the Attempt History page.

14. Click on the blue “link” word in the Instructions.

15. This link will take you back to the Original Instructions page for your

selected assessment. Follow the steps as directed.

Steps 16-20 provide detailed instructions for accessing edTPA Calibration

samples. If you are only completing the Dispositions calibration, skip to

step 21.

16. (edTPA only) Watch the Introductory edTPA calibration video.

17. (edTPA only) You will proceed to the edTPA Sample page.

18. (edTPA only) This page has all the

links to the departments. Click on

the department for the edTPA

Sample you will be reviewing and

scoring.

NOTE: You will notice that Middle

Grade and Secondary have samples for

each content area.

19. (edTPA only) Each sample page has the corresponding handbook at

the top of the page. REMINDER: All edTPA Samples in the COED Faculty

Calibration Page are not to be shared, downloaded or used outside of

this page. You must view all evidences in the Canvas Page.

20. (edTPA only) At the bottom of each directions page is a link to the

Reliability Scoring “Quiz”.

21. When you are ready, you can proceed to the “quiz”. For the

disposition’s module, this is Step 5. Please be sure you have viewed the

dispositions video (Step 3) BEFORE beginning the quiz. *The quiz saves

answers so you are able to stop and resume as needed.

22. For all assessments, click on identified link to take the quiz and the

first question will appear. For edTPA, you will review a sample and enter

a score. For Dispositions, you will review a scenario and enter a score.

23. Enter the numerical score and click Next. DO NOT CLICK SUBMIT QUIZ

UNTIL YOU ARE FINISHED WITH SCORING THE ENTIRE ASSESSMENT!

24. In the upper right hand corner, you will see the questions you have

answered with a check mark and the questions that need to be

answered with a “?” mark.

25. If you need to go back to the resources/edTPA samples, you have

three ways to access it:

a. (edTPA only) Click on the edTPA Sample link in the Quiz

Instructions.

b. (edTPA only) Inside of the Question, there is a link to the Sample.

c. All: In the upper left-hand corner, click on Modules to access all

the samples/directions.

26. When you click on one of these options, a pop up window will appear.

Click OK.

27. You will be directed back to whatever was your previous page.

28. When you are ready to go back to the Quiz, you can click on the

Quizzes in the upper left hand corner.

29. If you are completing an edTPA calibration, you will see the list of

quizzes for each sample. If you are completing the dispositions

calibration, you will see that quiz only.

edTPA example:

30. Click on the quiz you were working on. Then click on Resume Quiz.

31. The link will direct you back to the beginning of the quiz.

32. Either you can click Next to scroll through the questions or you can

select the question you need in the upper right hand corner.

33. To finish the quiz, you will click on the Submit Quiz button at the end

of all the questions.

34. Once you have submitted the quiz, you will be directed to a page

showing your score and the correct answers.
