Mouse (or touch) to the far right to pull up the right menu bar

Select the ‘SETTINGS’ gear icon Select TILES

Select SHOW ADMIN TOOLS, change to YESReturn to the main screen. There are new grey (or blue) admin tiles on the right:

Select SERVICES tile

Scroll down and select WIRED AUTO-CONFIGChange ‘Startup Type’ to AUTOMATIC

Press START (if there is a start button there, left hand side)Select APPLY (bottom right)

This has set up your computer to automatically look for a wired network connection

On to the home screen........

Select the SETTINGS gear icon (from the menu on the right)Select CONTROL PANEL

Select NETWORK AND INTERNETSelect NETWORK AND SHARING CENTERon top left select ADAPTER SETTINGS

Click Change Adapter Settings on left hand side

Double-click on Ethenet(or Local Area Connection)and select

Properties Wi - FiEthernet

Press Settings button (next page)

Put checkmark in the IEEE 802.1X box

In the dropdown select Microsoft: Protected EAP(PEAP)

Choose the second tab, Authentication

Check the ‘Fallback to unauthorized network...’ box

Enable IEEE 802.1X authentication

Do you want to turn on sharing between PC’s and connect to devices?

No, Don’t turn on sharing or connect to devices

Yes, turn on sharing and connect to devices

If a box pops up something like this asking if you want to share network or devices, say YES

(as you are joining the TSJr network and sharing your signal with that device)

Check AddTrust External CA Root(the rest can stay blank)

Click Configure button at bottom right (next to drop-down)

(opens new box)Uncheck Automatically use my windows name and password(we want to use your UTORid, not your windows password)

Click OK (closes EAP MSCHAPv2 box)

Click OK (closes Protected EAP box)

Make sure the Do not prompt...box is unchecked

Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) Settings

Authentication

Fallback to unauthorized network access

Enable IEEE 802.1X authentication

Additional Setting...

You are back on the ‘Local Area Connection Properties’ window from step 3

Click on Additional Settings (opens new box)

Click OK, OK and Closeall your boxes

FINISHED

Check Specify Authentication Mode

Change drop-down to User Authentication

Save credentials

Click Save Credentials & input your UTORid and password(ex. smithdav, xxxxxxx) if you want it to remember your UTORid. For computers with multiple users, do not ‘Save Credentials’ and a pop-up will promt for a new UTORid at each connection.(if prompted for a DOMAIN, leave that blank)

WHEN YOU GET TO THE CLASSROOM.........

When you get to the classroom....You need to connect 2 cables

First, the network cable for login and internet. Even if you do not require internet, you should connect this cable first in order to allow you access to use the teaching station. If a successful connection is made and your UTORid is valid for TSJr use, the power button on the black panel will flash red and you can move on to the next step.

Second, a choice of video cable (either VGA or HDMI)please note: Not All TSJr have HDMI connections - for a list of rooms that have HDMI, contact ACE.

Optional: You can also attach the audio pin if you want sound
