1 December 2010 Instructions to Register in FPSC Online Resources *FPSC Online Resources is a free service provided by Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) to students enrolled in approved education programs for CFP ® Certification. Students and graduates are given access to these resources leading up to passing the Financial Planning Exam, Level 1 (FPE1™). The benefits of accessing the FPSC Online Resources service to support your education and examination success include: A Study Centre containing sample examination questions with self testing practice Sample case studies, study tips, and keys to competency Multimedia library including webinars on relevant subject matter Career guidance and a job board to support work experience requirements Discussion forums to enable communiucation with peers News stories and Upcoming events Interactive tools such as; a message centre indicating key milestones, a progress indicator, Ouicklinks to navigate the site, and transaction and account management functions. The following instructions will guide you through the registration process to gain access to the many benefits of FPSC Online Resources. You will need to have an account with FPSC, if not previously registered; this document also guides you through that straightforward process.

Instructions to Register in FPSC Online Resources *FPSC Online Resources is a free service provided by Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) to students enrolled in approved education programs for CFP® Certification. Students and graduates are given access to these resources leading up to passing the Financial Planning Exam, Level 1 (FPE1™). The benefits of accessing the FPSC Online Resources service to support your education and examination success include:

The following instructions will guide you through the registration process to gain access to the many benefits of FPSC Online Resources. You will need to have an account with FPSC, if not previously registered; this document also guides you through that straightforward process.

In order to have access to FPSC Online Resources, you must first register with FPSC.To access the Login/Create Account Page, please proceed as follows: 1. Visit www.fpsc.ca

2. Select “Login” from the bar at the top of the page

3. If you already have an account with FPSC, please enter your Registrant ID and Password

and select “Log in now”, or select “Create an account now”

Create an Account with FPSC 1. You are required to enter your First Name, Last Name, Salutation, Date of birth and a

password along with a password hint

2. Are you interested in pursuing CFP certification? (yes/no)

3. Upon answering yes, the following question will be asked: a. I am interested in pursuing CFP certification through having completed:

FPSC-approved Core Curriculum Approved Prior Credential Planificateur financier (Pl. Fin.)

b. Select “Proceed”

Enter Contact Information 1. Note: you must use a unique email address that is not in use by any other user in our

system. You must also enter a business address unless you select “If you do not have a business address or it is the same as your residential address click here”

2. Select “Proceed”

3. Next you will be asked to confirm your information

4. Once you have confirmed your information Select “proceed” and you will be given a

Registrant ID that you will have for the duration of your involvement with FPSC

5. Securely retain this ID, as you will use it while a student and, later, as a ‘Registered Candidate’ with FPSC

6. You have successfully established an account with FPSC. Now you may register to add

”FPSC Online Resources” to utilize your FPSC Online dashboard

Register for “FPSC Online Resources” 1. Select the “Register for Online Resources” link from your Quicklinks list

2. Read through the instructions and select “Proceed”

3. Next you will validate your personal information and answer a few questions for planning

purposes

4. Select “Proceed

5. Next you will enter in the validation code given to you by your Education Provider.

Note: This code can only be used to register once - it cannot be shared. (Approved Prior Credential candidates and IQPF candidates can obtain an access code directly from FPSC.)

7. The system will present you with a page to track your education. It will be pre-populated

based on the code you have given. Please complete all information to the best of your ability. You will then be able to continue to track your progress through the “View/Update Education” link

9. This page confirms your registration. Your FPSC Online Resources dashboard will now be updated to show access to special resources such as exam questions and a progress indicator

10. Select “Print” to print a copy of your FPSC Online Resources Registration 11. Select the “Your Dashboard” Link from the Quicklinks menu to return to your dashboard

home page
