Three stage approach
• Pre engagement - to help inform some of the initial planning
• Targeted engagement – to gain further insight into what services might
be required and who would use them
• Formal consultation – to formally consult on the principles behind the
creation of the ICC and the plans for integrated services.
Work undertaken to date:
• November / December 2013 - Pre engagement work has included
questionnaires undertaken at public venues, supermarkets, libraries etc.
• December 2013 - People’s Panel Survey included some relevant
questions around support services such as physio etc. and where people
would want to receive such services
• April 2014 - public involvement in site selection process
• October – December 2014 Targeted engagement with likely users of the facility. A total of 19 groups, involving over 500 individuals, were spoken to and written questionnaires were submitted by 151 people.
• January 2015 12 week public consultation launched – running from 26th January to Sunday 19th April.
The findings of the consultation will be used to inform three overarching themes:
• construction and design of the building
• the services provided and how they are provided
• the ethos and evidence behind the care model
Key stakeholder groups: • Residents (of the neighbouring area)
• Patients and carers
• The general public
• Clinicians and health professionals
• Regulatory and statutory bodies
A tailored approach is being taken with each of the stakeholder groups
The consultation so far …. • 15,000 copies of the consultation document printed
and distributed
• Posters and flyers and been produced and distributed to raise general awareness
• Copy of consultation document with personalised letter and invitation to respond sent to all key stakeholders and partners
Public engagement activity undertaken • 4 open public meetings
• 3 residents’ meetings – including 1 specifically to focus on
traffic concerns
• 15 focus groups
• 7 facilitated discussion groups with BME communities
Awareness raising sessions• 2 Hull City Council ‘Forum on the Move’ events
• 5 Information roadshows – supermarkets / shopping centres
• 3 Community Centre Q &A sessions
All meetings and focus groups have been recorded and key
issues will be drawn out and included in consultation report.

Traditional media coverage
Daily posts, scheduled at different times to hit different audiences, featuring images & web links.
• Facebook - Combined approximate reach of 16,500 users; around 85% of this reach gained through paid for ‘boosting’ of posts.
• Twitter - our tweets have been seen approx . 1,700 times a days, received 250 ‘link clicks’, 400 Retweets and 80 replies.
Social and new media coverage
• Between 26th Jan – present the ICC pages on the website have been visited a total of 1389 times
Hits account for how many times the page has been visited, this could be by the same user each time.
Unique visits account for the individual users who have accessed the page.
