Poem
Battle at Yorktown by Regina S.On a cold and cloudy day a final battle made its way.Brave-hearted men stood lined with pride, all together side by side. The British soldiers on the left,Americans on the right. With heads held high, they stood to fight. Two flags were raised into the airfor all to see, for all to stare. One of red and white and blue, and of surrender one stood too.The battle had not yet begun, and yet the war was finally won.And on this day, a freedom passedthrough every patriotic soul,a freedom that would always last, an accomplished life-long goal.
Poem
Valley Forge by Lili SysAt Valley Forge didWashington's army march. They had many troubles,For that winter was harsh.
They lacked decent clothing, shelter, and food too.But somehow the men managed to come through.
Many men desertedwhile many were in pain.A lot had no strengthbut they tried hard in vain.
As winter went on,the conditions improved, volunteers helped and the army moved.
The troops had learnedthat they formed an alliance. With France at their sidethere would be no defiance!
