Integrating AWeber Into Your

ACWS Enterprise Process Flow

AWeber is an email and communication delivery and management company, and are rated one of the best

in the business. Their email management policies are such that the major Internet providers don't block

them, ensuring high deliverability for your email campaigns. With AWeber, you can have an email

autoresponder system of your own that is going to produce much better results than many other systems

and methods.

We are now offering the ability to integrate AWeber into your ACWS Enterprise prospect management

process. To do so, just follow the steps below.

NOTE: A prerequisite for using this service is that you have your own AWeber account already. WE WILL

NOT COVER GETTING AN ACCOUNT IN THIS DOCUMENT. To create an AWeber account if you don't

already have one, you can CLICK HERE.

Sign in to your AWeber account.

To sign in to your AWeber account, follow these steps: 1. In your browser's address bar, type in www.aweber.com and hit Enter on your keyboard 2. Enter your AWeber customer login (username) and hit Tab on your keyboard 3. Enter your AWeber password 4. click the Login button.

Create a new list - Step 1

You will need to create a new list in AWeber which will house both your own prospects and stores all of the email followups from the autorepsonder (and all of the technical stuff that goes with that). The technical stuff and the email messages themselves will be copied from our main prospect campaign, which you can customize after they're copied over. For now, just lick the Create and Manage Lists link near the top-left pull-down menu (1).

Clicking the link in the last step takes you to this screen, which is where you can manage any or all of your existing lists. All we need to do now is click the big, green Create A List button (1). (We've blurred out our info in this screenshot, but yours will be shown in the clear).

There are 3 major areas you will need to complete in order to create your list, which are shown in the 3 sections at the top of the page marked 1, 2 and 3 in our diagram. This step in the howto covers the 1st section, Basic Settings. You will need to go down the page through each field and fill out the form. Any field marked with an asterisk ( *) is a required field. Please note that the List Name field is likely to be already in use by someone else, so it's best to try a name that is unique to you. For example, if your name was Joe Person, a good list name might be jperson_acws_1. (4) Whatever you type here, REMEMBER THIS NAME. You're going to need it later in this process (at the end), so write it down. Whatever you do, THIS LIST NAME MUST NEVER CHANGE. If it should be changed, your website will not work and will halt immediately after the prospect signs up with a “List Not Active” error message. The prospect will not see the webinar, and it’s uncertain (indeed unlikely) that they will be recorded in either our ACWS database or in the AWeber system. In short, bad things will happen if you try to change this name. Set it once and leave it for all time. If it should auto-generate a name you don’t like, we’re sorry, but you’re going to have to leave it that way. This problem is a result of the way the AWeber system works at their end; maybe they’ll fix it someday, maybe not… best to play it safe and act as if they will never change it by removing the opportunity for things to go wrong. The From Name and Address (5 & 6) should be a real name and email address where your prospects can email you. The Contact Address field (7) is required by law (the CAN-SPAM Act) to be a real address where your prospects can send you physical mail, presumably as a last-ditch method of unsubscribing. The Notifications section of the form is entirely optional. Save these settings, scroll to the top of the page and move on to the next header section (2), marked "Personalize Your List" (click on it). NOTE: At the bottom of the screen, there might be a big bar showing your list setup completion percentage. You can leave this on or turn it off with the red X in the top right corner of the bar. It is turned off in this screenshot.

The next step is to Personalize your list. The entirety of this section is optional: be as complete or incomplete as you like, but we do have a couple of recommendations. 1. All of the emails we'll be sending with this will be plain text, so don't bother with uploading a Company Logo because no one will see it. 2. We ourselves don't use any of these options at this time, except for our Company Name and Website URL. None of these options are required for your email campaign to operate properly.

Next we move on to the final section of the AWeber list creation process, the Confirmed Opt-In (1). You can modify some parts of the upper area (Confirmation Message) within certain limits that will be shown to you on-screen, but note that ANY changes here will be subject to approval by AWeber. But that's OK... because we aren't going to use it anyway! The list you're creating here will be tied to an AWeber-approved, AWeber-generated form that does not require confirmed opt-in. However, to make it work we need to correctly set the next 2 options. (next page)

(2). Turn OFF the requirement to opt-in in section 2 of the form (scroll down to see it) (3) Enter the following URL (it's best to copy & paste it from here to there) into the Success Page entry: http://www.ebpromotions.com/bestkeptsecret/tour_a2aw.php (4) Turn on the little tick-box for passing subscriber info to the Success Page. It is vital that this tickbox be "on". (5) Click the Save Settings button.

Set up the Autorepsonder -- Step 1

Now that you have a list created, it's time to put messages into its autoresponder (and all the technical stuff that makes it work). This is the easiest part of the whole thing, because you will starting off by copying all of our setup into yours with a simple operation. You won't have to worry about any of the technical stuff at all! To begin, go to the tabs at the top of the web page, hover your mouse over Messages (1), and click on Followup Series (2)

Set up the Autorepsonder -- Step 2

This step is easy, you only have to click a link. Look in the lower left for a link which says "Looking for campaign sharing?" You probably won't need to scroll down to see it, but you might, so keep that in mind. Click that link.

Set up the Autorepsonder -- Step 3

This is the last step for setup inside of AWeber, and is very easy. In the box marked "Use a pre-defined campaign by entering the campaign code:", you need only to paste in this code in the box (1) and click the Load Campaign button (2). The code is: acws_prospects-28dce-$F if you don't know how to copy & paste, you should learn, as it's important to know. Don't try to hand-type this code. When you click the Load Campaign button, the AWeber system will copy our ACWS Prospects messages and setup into your new list! You'll have a complete, working campaign with no further setup required. With that said, you CAN edit the messages, add new ones, remove ones you don't like... but we don't recommend it; we've got this thing tuned pretty well. One thing you must NEVER do is go into List Options->Custom Fields and change or remove any of the 3 variables that were copied over as part of this Campaign Sharing. If you do, you will BREAK YOUR ACWS SITE AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SIGN UP ANY PROSPECTS. You can add more custom fields if you like (up to 25 total), but never remove or change these 3 fields.

Set Up Your Tracking Interface - Step 1

In a new window or tab, log in to your ACWS tracking interface (trackinginterface.com), if you aren't already there (since you're reading this guide, you probably are there already). In the grey menu bar on the site, go to Manage->AWeber Info.

Set Up Your Tracking Interface - Step 2

In the marked boxes, put in the name of your AWeber list (1), which you should have written down from this manual's step 3a (back at the beginning), and in box (2), you can just make up an ad tracking code (all one word, can use _ in place of spaces). This is entirely for your reference but there does need to be something there. Note that you don't have many characters to work with, so be frugal in your code. When you are ready, click the Update AWeber Info button (3). If you ever want to STOP using this custom AWeber list in your sites and wish to use ours instead, simply click the Deactivate AWeber button (4).

Setup Complete! Congratulations! If you've followed all the steps in this guide correctly, you now have AWeber integrated into your ACWS Enterprise sites. Feel free to move on to other things now, you're done here!
