• Significant marine turtle hatchery
• Olive Ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea), nationally endangered
• Flatback turtle (Natator depressus), nationally vulnerable

Turtle conservation on APN country• Marine turtle threats
• adults (pollution, ghost nets, boat strikes, …)
• nesting (development, disturbance, sea level rise, depredation)
• Nest to Ocean turtle protection program• improve nesting success through
active predator control
• baiting, shooting, fencing, meshing
• monitoring

Evaluation summary• Feral pig aerial control:
• no clear link between aerial control, feral pig population size, and turtle nest depredation
• Turtle nest depredation:• depredation hot spots and key times identified
for each predator species
• Turtle nesting and meshing success• program achieves objectives
• meshing is only partly effective

Conclusions and next steps• Empowering rangers
• Map-based visualizations particularly useful
• Adaptive management decisions• less aerial control or turtle nest meshing
• more targeted predator control at key times and locations
• Next steps: “closing the loop”• refine indicators
• fill information gaps
• automate workflows
