ConsultationWagstaff Interiors were introduced to DST initially to assess their existing space with a view to refurbishing the offices and updating the mechanical and electrical systems which were all approaching the end of their useful life. EvaluationUpon surveying the building opportunities became apparent through new ways of working to better occupy the building, additionally opportunities to gain additional space within the existing footprint through replacing existing plant became apparent.

Concept DesignsWagstaff produced a series of concept plans showing how the building could work and could be extended economically within the plant areas at both fourth and fifth floor levels. A planning consent was then sought to extend the building both vertically and horizontally at rooftop levels and by means of a podium extension in the car park. ComplianceWagstaff have taken account of all current legislation with regards to planning, fire prevention,

public health, structural, health and safety etc in order to achieve the planning consent and are complying fully with the requirements thereof. Additionally we are hoping to achieve a BREEAM rating of excellent Creation As principal managing contractor Wagstaff are fully responsible for the works which are taking place whilst the building is fully occupied and as a turnkey solution carrying out all churn, change and temporary moves to facilitate the project. Working within the confines of the occupied building, a main line rail track to the rear, Surbiton High Street to the front and the station concourse to the side of the building. CompletionDue to the wish from the client for an early commencement and the procurement of the planning permissions the building has been completed in occupation from the first floor upwards culminating in the fit out of the extended fourth and new fifth floor spaces.

Consultation Maple House in Birmingham was chosen as the first extension of the etc.venues portfolio outside London and sits above Birmingham’s Corporation Street overlooking Old Square.Wagstaff had previously carried out major refurbishment work to three of their London sites. Evaluation Moving into this recently refurbished Cat A fit-out required us to modify and supplement the existing Air conditioning, heating, power and lighting to suit the new proposed layout. Concept Designs Our project manager worked closely with the clients own designers, to finalise the scheme design. The venue features 17 training, conference and meeting rooms that can accommodate from 2 to 160 delegates. Rooms are equipped with the latest technology including AV facilities, plasma screens and high speed wireless internet access. The restaurant is filled stylish furnishings and contemporary art and can seat up to 200 delegates. Its contemporary look makes it ideal for cocktail receptions, dinners, lunches or buffets

and all the food is freshly prepared in the fully functional commercial kitchen. Compliance All areas of statutory complance have been given due regard to throughout the design and installation of the scheme including complying with landlord’s requirement and giving due regard to future dilapidation requirements. CreationOur flexibility and understanding approach to this project helped ensure the client’s needs were always being considered, particular attention was given to the high standard of soundproofing and the need for a quality extract system to the restaurant area. Other works included new ceilings and lighting, floor finishes , interactive audio visual installations and bespoke joinery. CompletionWith only a 10-week construction period this 700k project was completed on time, within budget and we are currently extending the venue into other spaces due to its huge success in the marketplace.

ConsultationWagstaff were asked to look at the existing core areas at Marsh headquarters in London with a view to refurbishing the spaces to provide staff friendly one to one meeting areas, quiet rooms and relaxed breakout spaces.

EvaluationUpon survey it became apparent that two areas per floor would allow user choice in the environment they wished to ‘break’ into. Opportunities existed to create areas encompassing small cellular spaces, meeting areas, relaxed lounge type areas and traditional canteen style areas.

Concept DesignsA series of concept designs, sketches and renders were produced in order to obtain client appreciation and sign off our ideas for the spaces.

ComplianceAll designs took due note of statutory requirements regarding DDA, fire, public health and landlords requirements.

CreationWorking on a rolling overlapping programme these works encompassed areas over floors and were completed on programme and within budget.

CompletionThese works were completed snag free together with all O&M manuals and certification. These areas are more widely used for informal small meeting rooms, easing the pressure of demand for other existing meeting spaces in the building.

Dods Group Plc (Huveaux)

Project Dods Group Plc (Huveaux) wanted to relocate their headquarters closer to central London. We were initially appointed to survey and space plan potential buildings in the area. The main challenge was bringing the project on the time and budget. We overcame this by having a close working relationship, working to a strict timescale and project programme. The project incorporated breakouts, toilets and a new reception area. We demolished the old partitions to open up the existing office area. Wagstaff then installed glass partitioning for the new meeting suites to provide an elegant and seamless look and feel which still fell in line with the open plan layout. New daylight lighting, carpets, feature wall finishes was introduced to create a fresh and contemporary look for their new headquarters.
