ARJUN MUTHALAGU 2401 W 25th Street Apt 13A5, K.S 6604 Objective

Seeking a challenging internship as a software developer employing my skills in Object Oriented, Enterprise Java, data mining and Functional Programming.

Education

Master of Science – Computer Science 3.625 Aug 2013 - Dec 2014 University of Kansas, Lawrence Bachelor of Engineering – Electronics and Communication Engineering 3.370 Jun 2009 - May 2013 SNS College of Technology, Coimbatore

Courses Data Mining, Advanced Data Mining, Expert Systems, Advanced Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, Programming Language Foundations,

Functional Programming Domain Specific Languages, Computer Architecture, Data Structures

Experiences

University of Kansas, Lawrence Jan 2014 - Current

Teaching Assistant, Data Mining EECS 837 and EECS 839 Kept office hours every week

Graded assignments, Midterms, Finals and course project

Angler Technologies India Pvt Ltd., Coimbatore May 2012 - Jan 2013

Software Intern Created functionality for Vendor Style Management (VSM) in Java for adding unique items in inventory and promo (promotion) codes

Generated reports of inventory, invoices and sales report

Projects

Pong Game (Functional Programming, Haskell) Designed and programmed a two-player pong game in Haskell, which was built on top of Blank Canvas, a Haskell Library which acts as a Foreign

Function Interface to JavaScript.

Mining Special Data (Java, Java Collections) Implemented the LEM2 algorithm using Java collections for the generation of rule set that is consistent with LERS data set. The program when

tested on a Medical data set was found to save approximately 30 out of a possible 100 screening tests for a dataset with 10,000 patients.

Implementation of MIPS 64 PIPELINE (Java, Java Collections) Created an interpreter in java to demonstrate the MIPS64 instruction cycle diagram and its output, thereby simulating the behavior of MIPS

microprocessor and the instruction ordering which takes place internally and hence seeing how ASM code can be further optimized.

Hobby Website (Spring MVC, JDBC Integration and Servlets) Implemented a website that lets user creates accounts and share interests. Additionally working on instantiating Apriori algorithm to match

users with similar interests.

Expert System (CLIPS) Implemented an expert system in Clips that performs the function of a traffic light signal in an intersection, yet be intelligent enough to perform

advanced tasks like making decisions based on traffic flow/volume in the area. On a test simulator it had helped increase the effectiveness of the traffic flow by 0.6%.

Discretization of Data sets (Java, Java Collections) Discretized a numerical data set and generated a better numerical range on which we generated the rule set for the numerical data.
