Ability of Monitoring the Air Quality (AQ)

In the past Decades:

The monitoring of air quality was limited for collecting and storing measurements only

Present Day:

Any information can be retrieved immediately

In real-time

Via internet

In a simple and comprehensive way to the wide audience

Additional data (Historical Measurements) can be reviewed

It is developed for the first time in 2002 (Laboratory of Atmospheric Pollution and Environmental Physics)

providing the possibility for direct information to the public about the air quality,

four atmospheric measurement stations (Kozani, Florina, Kastoria and Grevena)

For every station a previous and current index of pollution appears (in a scale 1-10) with an appropriate colour scale

CONCLUSIONS

The proposed application is part of a system air quality monitoring network of LAP-EP/TEIWM.

A dynamic web application is proposed where users can be informed in real time about atmospheric and meteorological conditions (Western Macedonia)

Developed under the philosophy of the open source software.
