• Installed in 2004-05
• 20 dishes system with a cost of Rs. 20 lakhs
• Generates 1200 kg of steam per day at around 180oC
• 60% steam being used for sterilization and in laundry, rest for cooking

Campus Lighting
• LED based lights are cost effective due to lower requirement of SPV modules
• Suitable for areas having frequent power cuts in evenings
• Avoid use of DG sets therebyreducing diesel consumption & air/noise pollution
• At Fortis Hospital in Delhi, 30% of LED based external lighting fixtures powered by SPV thus saving 22% of electrical load for external lighting

• A lot of kitchen, food and other wastes get generated in hospitals, nursing homes and campuses of medical institutions
• Problems are faced in its safe and timely disposal, apart from problems of odour, rodents, stray dogs etc.
• Technologies are now available which can process these wastes,generate useful energy and produce organic manure
• One tonne of mixed waste can generate about 75 cum of biogas perday equivalent to 135 units of electricity or 35 kg of LPG which ismore than two cylinders of cooking gas
• This can result in savings of Rs 2,000 per day in terms of cooking gas or Rs 700 per day in terms of electricity
• Compact , portable and aesthetically good looking units have now been developed and are being commercially deployed with pay back periods of 3-4 years
