— 24 MW industrial turn key electrolyzer plant
to produce green hydrogen for pipeline
supply of Linde‘s industrial customers
— H2 sufficient for e. g. 600 fuel cell buses/ 40
kton CO2 reduction
— First ILE industrial scale project with
Electrolyzer from ITM, BoP from Linde
Engineering
— Demonstrates Linde’s commitment to the
technology
— Important new German reference plant
— Will be world‘s largest PEM electrolyzer by
time of commissioning in 2022
Linde to Build, Own and Operate World's Largest PEM Electrolyzer for Green Hydrogen

Large scale storage and supply capacities for hydrogen
Hydrogen cavern in USA & Hydrogen pipeline network in central Germany
• 10+ years of successful operation
• 2 years to solution mine: geophysical
and execution expertise is key
• Total capacity of 2.5 Bcsf (6,000 MT)
• Working capacity equivalent to
10 days production from a world-scale
SMR
• Essential for storing off-peak energy
and thus create supply reliability
World’s first high-purity H2 commercial cavern

Linde’s “Hydrogen Cloud”
Smart hydrogen handling with (saisonal) balancing of supply and demand
Joachim Heider | Linde GmbH | International H2-Symposium | 15.06.2021
• Linde operates many production plants with storage and flexibility options and supplies a lot of customers withhydrogen via trailer.
• This „Hydrogen Cloud“ enables virtual & saisonal storageof hydrogen:
– If possible direct supply from production to HRS
– In case of surplus production (e. g. PV-electrolyzisin summer) hydrogen will be used to supply otherLinde-customers
– In case of underproduction (e. g. PV-Electrolyzis in winter) additional hydrogen will supplied fromother sources to cover demand
→ 24/7 reliable supply of your demand through Linde production network
→ Maximum utilization of your production plant evenduring ramp-up of your demand
