Warnings and Spiritual advice

Several warnings and advice in relation to the

International Spiritist Movement have been received through

different mediums

In general Spiritual Mentors make comments on the

difficulties in many of the Northern hemisphere countries

related to the lsquonot very fertile groundrsquo to welcome and nourish

the seeds of light of Christian Spiritism [] lsquoMost of

reincarnated souls in those places still carry in their hearts

strong psychic connections with Europes ancient religions

usually taking pleasure in a inner and purely formal worshiprsquo

For the people in many different countries lsquothose Spirits

will need to suffer before awakening to the true lifersquo However

at Spiritist groups in many countries there is already a

lsquodemand by locals in need of consolation acceptance and

enlightenment when facing the unavoidable collective and

individual trials which tend to build up over timersquo

Spirits incite us to the lsquoimportance of persistence by the

workers [] as faithful gardeners of the Loving Sower of Lightrsquo

Let us do our part making a daily effort to be

instruments of peace as the Missionary of Assisi used to say

working for unity harmony and mutual benevolence in the

heart of the Spiritist Movement

7th Spiritist World Congress

Aiming at support ing and collaborating with Cuban Spiritists the International Spiritist Council and the Brazilian Spiritist Federation donated to Cuba a special edition in Spanish of The Gospel according to Spiritism and a container of books published in Spanish by the IDE

On 19th and 20th March 2013 a pre-Congress took place in the Eastern Cost of Cuba with talks and visits to the Manzanillo Bayamo and Sierra Maestra Spiritist institutions having a total of about 1200 participants As part of a local tradition before the start of the Congress a tribute at the Central square was paid to the educator and patriot Jose Marti who was also a supporter of Spiritist ideas

For the actual Congress 2012 people enrolled of whom 1200 were Cubans The following 31 countries stood out with a greater number of participants Brazil - 569 Colombia - 55 United States - 41 Mexico - 18 Uruguay - 16 Panama - 12 England and Portugal - 10

The Lazaro Pena Theatre in the centre of Havana had a full house throughout the event At the opening and at different times representatives of the Cuban Government were present Abel Prieto Jimenez advisor to the President of the Republic Caridad Diego Bello director of the Department of Religious Affairs for the Government and her advisor Eloisa Valdez Miriam Martha Garcia Marino director of associations of the Ministry of Justice At the opening table members of the ISC Executive Committee and representatives of the

participating countries The Spiritist medical doctor Servando Agramonte leader of the Cuban Spiritist Movement and Manuel de la Cruz organisers of the event gave an address The opening prayer was said by the head of the Spiritist Centre of Havana Divaldo Franco gave the opening and closing talks and a tribute was paid to him during the event for his work for peace The following people gave talks with the

Their activities include Leaders meeting at the Christian Charity Spiritist Society Mr Gustavo Martinez the ASF chairman spoke on the theme Times have come in which he explained the Program of support to Spiritist Institutions for them to carry out their basic activities approved by the Federal Council of ASF as part of the 2012 - 2014 Action Plan which includes the creation of seven departments of work

The French Spiritist Council (FSC) was represented at the 7th World Spiritist Congress and Annual General Meeting of the ISC in Havana by Luc Moussu and Charles Kempf They are making the arrangements to launch a new campaign Amar a Vida (Loving Life) promoted by the ISC and carried out by the Portuguese Spiritist Federation The material has been translated into French and will be shown on the cover of next issue of the Voie Spirite (Spiritist Way) newsletter (cover on the left-hand side)

Two new Spiritist centres have been founded in this period CEBEM in Zurich (Kuumlsnacht) and GEFA in Bern (Zollikofen) In the Italian Switzerland we will be beginning a program of monthly

events in Italian in May (please see the poster) Most Spiritist centres have received a boost of new friends very knowledgeable in Spiritism joining these centres and are providing their help to the Spiritist movement with great motivation

In May 2013 the President of the US Spiritist Council visited Montreal and Quebec Canada to give short seminars on training Spiritist workers and leaders The visit was part of a programme established to support the Canadian Spiritist movement as well as other events scheduled for 2013 such as the visit of the Spiritist writer and worker Dr Alirio Cerqueira Filho and Vice-president of the US Spiritist Council Jussara Korngold

The directors of the Canadian Spiritist Council Jose and Sandra Mussi attended as guests the General Annual Meeting of the United States Spiritist Council held on 21st April 2013 in Dallas Texas
