DEFINATION OF INTERNET

The word INTERNET is described in many ways. The best way to describe the word internet to you would be, the system that allows million of computer and mobile users around the world to share , transmit and exchange information.

The internet or net(network of networks) is the largest computer network in the world that connect billions of computer users.

The word internet comes from combination of “interconnection” and “network”.

Generally nobody own internet.

What is Mbps ??• In very simple manner

MBPS means to transfer the data of one megabyte in one second . Whereas the formation of one megabyte consist 1000000 bytes .

•So that the speed of 1 MBPS can transfer the data of 1000000 bytes.

Speed of internet all over the world

• The average speed of internet all over the world in 2015 is increased by 25% according to internet providing company Akamai technology incorporation and the state of internet report-2015

• Where as India consist very low speed of 2.8 mbps in Asian pacific countries .

• The global average speed of internet is increased by 23% is 5.6 mbps.

Internet speedSingapore is on the 1st position for speed of

internet in worldThus it gives 50% fastest speed as compare to the

speed of India.Whereas in Asia , the speed of South Korea and

Macau is increased by 10% and 13% respectively.There is also increase of speed by 36% in India in

2014. India’s peak speed is 21.2 mbps is lower than

Korea’s average speed.

Speed of internet in Asia• South Korea had the highest

average connection speed in Asia-Pacific region at 26.7 Mbps.

• South Korea and Macao (83.1 Mbps) were the only countries/regions to post double-digit quarterly gains in average peak connection speed at 10% and 13%, respectively.

There is speed of 26.8 mbps in mobile in Britain and also holding 1st rank for high speed of internet in mobile.

Whereas Iran is at last position by speed of 1.3 mbps.

The time it takes for a web page to load from the time a user clicks to till it loads completely for a broadband connection in India was 3.9 seconds and for mobile 6.9 seconds.

LET US SEE THE POSITION OF INDIA IN DIFFERENT LEVEL OF SPEED SECTOR. India ranks at 10th

position in fixed broadband subscription in Asia.

India ranks 4TH position in mobile cellular subscription in Asia.

Positive impacts

Internet search engines are the best information retrieval systems available. They bring any kind of information for internet users, from local restaurants to international news.

The Internet provides some of the most effective means of  communication among people, including  online  emailing and instant messaging.

The Internet makes possible for business and companies to do transactions with their clients and customers.

Negative impact

Illegal or inappropriate materials can be found in the internet.

Some people in recent years have illegally downloaded music or other copyrighted material for free. This action has had a negative impact on the music industry and has led to several lawsuits.

The addiction to online social networks can disturb a person's way of living and professional activity.

Some criminals use the internet for spreading computer viruses or even intercepting credit card or bank details for spurious purposes.

IMPACT OF INTERNET ON INDIA IN PRESENT AND FUTURE Two- thirds of world's Internet users are from

developing world. Globally, there are 4 billion people not yet using the Internet and more than 90 % of them are from the developing world", says the 2014 ICT(Information and communication technology) facts and figures of International Telecommunications Union.

Though plausibly contradicting, the figures with Indian position are only positively astonishing. With a population of 50,00,000 users in the year 2000, India has crossed over 19,52,48,950 internet users by the end of 2013.

Now, India is world's third largest internet user after the U.S and China.

and Data communication are three current hotspots of internet utility in India.

Electronic Commerce has brought speedy and cheaper services for a consumer.

The Information Technology Act, 2000 is the first and foremost Cyber law of India. But the implications of Indian cyber laws over online transactions are lesser known to Indian consumers.

They are unaware as to how their rights are protected through these cyber laws.
