• INTERPOL started in the year 1923.• Headquarters is in Lyon, France • It has 190 member countries• It has 4 official languages• Kenya became the member of the

organization in 1968

• Environmental Crime is one of the most profitable and fastest growing areas of National and international criminal activities.

• Criminal networks and syndicates, motivated by high profits and low risk, which have established National and International industry that:-

5. ECO-MESSAGES• Is a standardized system of reporting Environmental

Crimes in 4 INTERPOL official languages.• It was developed to provide uniform intelligence

data report.• System can be used to report all forms of

environmental crimes which includes:-(a) the illegal transport and damping of waste materials,(b) the illegal transport and damping of radioactive materials.

HOW IT FUNCTIONS:

System uses carefully designed details of a particular crime. It permits:

• speedy and methodical entry of the reports details in a format which is compatible with INTERPOL database.

•Efficient cross referencing of data against

other entries in the computerized INTERPOL database

•Organized and meaningful extraction of that data in a way that facilitates applications such as Criminal intelligence analysis.
