II. FFA Basics

E. The emblem has several parts: 1. Corn Cross Section - symbol of unity,

grown in every state. 2. Rising Sun – progress in Ag and

confidence in the future 3. Plow - symbol of labor 4. Owl - symbol for knowledge 5. Eagle - freedom and ability to explore new horizons 6. Word - indicate that FFA is an important part of Ag-Ed

F. FFA Degrees – shows progress in the organization 1. Greenhand Degree - 1st year members that meet qualifications 2. Chapter Degree - 2nd year 3. State Degree - 3rd or 4th year 4. American Degree - 5 to 8 years a. You should make these your goals

G. Official Dress is required for district and State leadership CDE’s, FFA Camp, MFE, National Convention, State Convention, State Production CDE’s, and our banquet. It includes; 1. FFA jacket zipped to the top 2. Blue Tie or Scarf 3. Black Pants or Skirts 4. White Dress Shirt or Blouse 5. Black Shoes (closed toe) 6. Black Socks

A. Career Development Events are contests designed to teach career skills. In South Dakota we have fall leadership CDE’s and spring production CDE’s

A.The Lennox Chapter was chartered in 1930

B.It was named in honor of Andrew Sundstrom1.He was National President in

1934-352.He died at the age of 34 from
