Investing togetherCooperating with local banks

Rabobank Foundation is able to carry out its work thanks to the financial commitment of

the local Rabobanks. Increasingly the banks are also seeking involvement on the ground

with project partners, enabling the experience and expertise of staff and customers to

be put to good use.

Cooperating with staff

Employee fund Rabo Share4More was set up in 2004. This Fund, aided and run by staff

at Rabobank, supports education and water supply projects in the countries where

Rabobank Foundation is active.

Cooperating with customers

Customers of Rabobank can also contribute to the work done by Rabobank Foundation.

Via the Rabo Foundation Client Fund they can donate to projects of their choice, so

giving expression to their social commitment.

Cooperating with other funds

Alongside Rabobank Foundation other funds have been set up which complement the

Foundation’s work, such as the Rabo Rural Fund and the Inclusive Business Fund.

and sales, for example. We also help in the development of savings and credit cooperatives so that farmers and their families can gain access to financial services. It’s essential that the cooperatives aim to become self-reliant: in the long run they should be in a position to offer services to their members without any external aid and to grow further. As such, these local cooperatives are a key engine for local economic development.

NetherlandsIn the Netherlands, Rabobank Foundation’s aid is aimed at boosting the economic and social self-reliance of various groups of under privileged people, such as those with physical or learning disabilities, those with psychological problems or children growing up in poverty. These people are

reached via national charities and social enterprises. In cooperation with these organisations we finance projects that give our target group access to work, education and social activities such as sport and culture.

In Asia, Africa and Latin America, Rabobank Foundation supports producer cooperatives and savings and credit cooperatives. In the Netherlands, the Foundation supports civil society organisations contributing to improve economic and social participation of the underprivileged. We receive the financial means to realise our mission from the local Rabobanks and Rabobank Netherlands. In addition, Rabobank clients can make funds available to aid the Foundation’s projects.

InternationalEach year the Foundation supports many projects abroad, with the main focus being on small-scale farmers and their cooperatives. Our aid is aimed at helping them improve their agricultural production and to work towards better distribution

Rabobank FoundationInvesting together in self-relianceStrength in numbers. That’s the power of a cooperative. And that’s also

the idea behind Rabobank Foundation. Our primary aim is to invest in

people’s self-reliance. Worldwide we offer underprivileged people the

prospect of a better life, by giving donations, loans, knowledge and

expertise. As we have for the last forty years.
