Safety precautions
Caution: Carefully read this directory before installation and
using,it is important!
This production obeys standards below:
GB/T 18837-2002 JB 8655-1997 GB 4706.1-2005
This manual is for Trane Variable Refrigerant System Indoor unit. The
contents will change with the improvement of this equipment,we will not
remind you again then.
Preparing works before installation
Installation and maintenance must
be performed only by licensed
technicians. Users should not
install, repair or transport the
equipments.
All electric works should be done
by licensed electricians.
Improper installation will cause
water leakage, electric shock, fire
accident etc.
Make sure that the capacity of
wires meets requirement, and the
wires are not loosen or damaged.
When the location of installation is
a small room, a good ventilation
must be kept to avoid the thickness
of refrigerant to exceed limitation in
case of a leakage of the refrigerant.
Ensure that the location of
installation is strong enough.
Otherwise, equipment falling will
be caused.
Precautions for installationLocations which do not suit for
installation:
(1) Locations with a possibl e
leakage of combustible gas
or materials which easily
evaporate , such as gasoline.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
In these locations, an explosion
might be caused.
(2) Locations with acid, alkali and
caustic gas (eg.:SO2, H 2S). In
such environment, equipments
might be rusted and then
leakage will be caused.
(3) Locations with dust, vapor,
lampblack or special spray,
such as kitchen.
Make sure that all ground wires
have been linked to ground. Do not
link ground wires to lightning
rod, telephone lines, gas pipes
or water pipes.
Do not strain power supply cables
or communication cables too tight.
This system needs an independent
power supply.
Install cables securely and avoid
pressure on terminal board.Otherwise, a power leakage or fire
accident might be caused.
Electric parts should be placed
away from water and moisture. Do
not install wired controller or
centralized controller in locations
with combustible or corrosive gas.
•
•
•
•
•
Follow this directory to install
drainpipe to insure a smooth
•
drainage. Pay attention to thermal
insulation to avoid condensation
water to appear.
Perform leakage test af ter
installation to find out any leaking
point.
Precautions for test running
Do not operate wired controller 、
wireless remote controller 、card
controller or centralized controller
with wet hands. Do not let water
get into them.
Do not strain or bend the cable of
wired controller or centralized
controller. Do not press buttons of
the controllers with sharp objects.
Do not put fingers or sticks into air
inlet or outlet when the system is
running.
Do not touch the refrigerant pipe
when the unit is running or stoppedminutes ago. I t wi l l cause
unnecessary hurt because the pipe
might be too hot or too cold.
Do not switch off the power
supply immediately after the
units s top running. Wait 5
minutes before shutting off the
power supply.Otherwise, water
leakage might happen.

Indoor unit installation
If the length of hanging stick is more than 3m, it is necessary to take
precautions against shake.
Make sure that, around the equipment, there is enough space for repairing.
Unit hanging
Choose a location for hang, fix the hanging sticks and make sure that they
are securely installed;
Make sure that the tache of the unit are reliable;
Hang the tache of the unit onto the hanging sticks between nut 1and 2
Use nut 2 to adjust the height of the unit;
Ensure that the unit is installed horizontally;
Screw down nut 1 and 3 of the hanging sticks to avoid falling or vibration.
Installation of air duct (for MVRD/MVRS/ MVRH)
Cautions
When designing air duct, make sure that the resistance of air duct equals to
static pressure outside the unit, otherwise the air volume would be too largeor too small;
Proper design of air duct can avoid noise efficiently;
Make the resistance of air duct equals to static pressure outside the
indoor unit by changing the speed of the unit’s fan or adjust the resistance
of air duct.
Set heat insulation layer around the duct in order to cut down energy waste
and to prevent vapor from condensing;
Air duct should be steadily sustained by the i ron hanging st icks. All joints
should be enveloped by airproof tape;
Keep the inlet of the unit′s heat exchanger and the air return window more
than 1m.
The distance between the edge of air duct and the wall should be no less
than 150mm.
Installation of air return duct (for MVRD/MVRS)
When use bottom return, buy or make a folded canvas air duct as a connection
of air return plenum and air return window. It can be adjusted to the height of
the ceiling. When the unit is running, canvas air duct can prevent the jar of the
ceiling.
When use rear return, air return duct should be made. Connect air

Indoor unit installation
Installtion of MVRF
Cautions
Please attach heat insulation material on the unit if the temperature inside the
ceiling higher than 30℃ and humidity higher than 80%.
An outdoor unit must match with only one MVRF unit, and the MVRF unit can
not share the outdoor unit with other kinds if indoor units.
Because of high noise, the installation should avoid noise and jar.
The unit need a special air outlet window, and this air outlet must keep away
from other units’air inlet to avoid the veracity of the temperature sensor.
Make sure that there is enough space for maintenance。
The unit should be installed in a place where the filter is easy to clean and
detachment.

Installation of EXV Box of indoor unit
Cautions:
Follow the instruction on indoor unit—“EXV Box Application identification”.
EXV Box must be placed vertically;
After EXV Box placed correctly, connect its inlet to the l iquid pipe from the
outdoor unit and its outlet to the liquid pipe of the indoor unit.
It is suggested that the length of the pipe between EXV Box and the indoor
unit should be no more than 10m. 20m is the limitation.
Set heat insulation layer around EXV Box to prevent vapor from condensing.
Communication cable of the EXV Box should be connected to the indoor
controller.

Connecting refrigerant pipe with flared joint
Use pipe cutter to cut pipes. If the diameter of the pipe is too large, metal saw
can be used. Make sure that the sawdust will not get into the pipe;
Install the nut onto pipe before flaring;
Ensure that the flared pipe is concentric. Make sure that there is no damage
on the surface of flared end. Do not make any flaws such as burr, crack,
drape, etc.
Lubricate the surface of flared joint with grease in order to let nut go smoothly
through. It can avoid a pipe distortion;
Screw down nuts with proper torsion. Do not break nuts because of screwing
too hard;Use two wrenches to hold the pipe; Shown as below:

a. Block the liquid pipe of indoor unit A with some insulant in hand.
b. Remove the insulant quickly when the pressure is hard to resist and let
N eject out of the pipe( first blow wash).
c. Perform step a and b again (second blow wash).
d. Place a piece of clean cloth at the outlet, after N ejects onto the cloth,
some dirt will be found on the cloth. If the cloth becomes wet, it means that
there is water in the pipe. Blow again until there is no dirt found on the cloth
and the cloth no longer becomes wet.
Redo steps above on indoor unit B.
After blow wash on liquid pipe, perform it again on gas pipe.
Leakage test and thermal insulation on refrigerant pipe
Step1:Perform leakage test on the indoor unit and the pipe after installation.
Charge the system with N from liquid and gas pipe to stated pressure( unit
for R22——28Kgf/cm , unit for R410A——38Kgf/cm ). step2:Maintain the
pressure for 24 hours, and then check whether the pressure goes down.
Make sure that the whole system is airtight;
