Semi-Live
Dear Colleagues,
We cordially invite you to participate in the Semi-Live 2015 symposium. The concept of Semi-Live brings about a new mode of interaction between speakers and their audience. Carefully recorded and edited videos will be narrated to the participants live by the surgeon himself.
Semi-Live 2015
• focuses on contemporary state-of-the-art urologic procedures for complex and standard indications. Additionally, topics such as intestinal anastomosis and intraabdominal vascular repair techniques are covered as important urological tools.
• brings together some of the most internationally recognized surgeons. They will present anatomical landmarks, access strategies, important steps, elegant tricks, pitfalls and complication management in an intense, live setting.
• is supplemented by a hands-on work shop. A limited number of participants may receive practical training in essential laparoscopic and robotic techniques.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Heidelberg.
Best regards on behalf of the organizing committee,
Dogu Teber Markus Hohenfellner

Additional in-depth knowledge can be gained by workshops with hands-on training in the most widely used laparoscopic urological techniques on Thursday, 29th January.
There are a limited number of places available which will be assigned on a first comes, first served basis.
Course Objectives
• To describe all basic principles used in laparoscopic urology (instruments, materials, approaches)
• To provide hands-on training to learn or improve performance in the most widely-used laparoscopic urological techniques
• To describe laparascopic complications and provide training in their potential management
Topics
• Partial nephrectomy – zero ischemia technique – different suturing techniques
(V-Loc versus Hem-o-Lok technique)
• Application of ischemia (bulldog clamp vs. tourniquet)
• Laparoscopic pyeloplasty
• Laparoscopic Boari/Psoas Hitch
• Laparoscopic vessel approach (complication management: bleeding from the V. cava)
