Calligraphy is a type of artwork with coins, tiles, and metal work which is sometimes used for the design of buildings.

Rugs and carpets were another way for people to express their artistic views.

Cinema was 5 years old when it came to Persia at the beginning of the 20th century.

First Persia filmmaker was Mirza Ebrahim Khan Akkas Bashik who has filmed Shah’s private and religious ceremonies.

Football (normally called soccer in the US) is very popular in Iran.

Not many other sports were introduced to Iranians other than football (soccer).

People from all ages participate, whether it’s a serious game, or just playing for fun.

Fans are a big part in the sport. Many people come out to watch the games.

Popular Dishes Food traditions and

styles are distinct with their region.

Chelo Kabab (rice served with roasted meat)

Khoresht (stew served with white rice)

Aash (soup)

Delicacies Fresh green herbs

are used along with fruits such as plums, pomegranates, quince, prunes, apricots, and raisins.

Persian main dishes are combinations of rice with meat, lamb, chicken, or fish.
