Terminal Orientation

Irving Oil wants to make sure that driver’s first lifts are made easily and safely. The page below will walk you through the orientation process step by step.

STEP 1 – Complete the Checklist

Please ensure that the following requirements are met prior to arrival for the orientation training.

Bring all certifications and agreements with you on all visits. Documentation must be on site.

Carrier Requirements: Trailer Requirements: Driver Requirements:❏ Carrier insurance certificate❏ Terminal access agreement

❏ Annual visual inspection❏ 5 year inspection❏ Probe certification

❏ TDG❏ WHMIS❏ CPPI❏ Valid drivers license

* Outer most layer of clothing must be Fire Retardent or Fire Resistent

STEP 2 – Schedule the Appointment

• Please contact the terminal at least 24 hours in advance.

• The St. John’s terminal number is 709.758.3003.

• Appointments are typically scheduled between 8am-5pm.

• Appointment times may vary depending on terminal activity.

STEP 3 – Attend the Training

• The driver orientation training will take approx 1-2 hours.

• Training includes: an orientation video, review of standards and procedures, site orientation, supervised loads, com-pliance checklist.

• To make the orientation faster and more efficient, you may send a training driver along with your new driver.

• Drivers must have 10 supervised loads and meet a compliance checklist prior to receiving their access card.

• Note: Completion of orientation is required every 3 years.
