Fantasy can provide one with the opportunity to

feel like a pro, in control, as if they are a part of something, and make them feel good too. Fantasy can connect to real-life too as a way of assisting those with certain illnesses the ability

to test out or role play common scenarios that previously they found difficult.

What type of player are you?Prof Richard Burtle proposes that there are four different types of game players: socialisers, explorers, achievers, and killers. Socialisers communicate with others during the game and form relationships. Explorers like to find out as much as they can about the game. Achievers gain as much power as possible whilst trying to beat the game. Killers like to disrupt other players or the function of the game.

A fantasy text is one which describes an imaginary

world or situation that is impossible to recreate even

with technological advances.

Many fantasy worlds in literature are based on medieval settings.

The most effective fantasy worlds are those which are

outside of a familiar setting but still have some believable

features.

Recently, Game of Thrones has developed Dothraki. The Avatar film brought us Na’vi. Many decades ago, Star Trek introduced Klingon. Just like real languages,

these conlangs continue to develop and change.
