The combination of basic name and first initial, Category of publication, and Institution

provides an accurate author search and also accurately

“Implied AND” search syntax - Q2 2006

Until now, terms entered in Quick Search or

TOPIC search within ISI Web of Knowledge

databases without use of Boolean operators or

an “exact phrase” structure typically retrieved

no results.



With Q2 2006 enhancements, a Boolean

“AND” is applied between all terms

entered in these search fields – within

all ISI Web of Knowledge databases.

Unstructured searches will now have the

capability to retrieve search results.



However – one may use quotes (“ ”)

around terms to specify an exact

phrase search.

Of course the user may also utilize
