ISIF Asia is a small grants and awards program aimed at stimulating creative solutions to ICT development needs in the Asia Pacific region, placing particular emphasis on the role of the Internet

in social and economic development in the region.

Why APNIC supports ISIF Asia?

•  ISIF Asia operates through a strategic partnership between the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), and APNIC with sponsorship from the Internet Society and the Dot Asia Organization.

•  APNIC manages the ISIF Asia secretariat on behalf of all the partners and sponsors through ethical, transparent and accountable processes and procedures.

•  APNIC invest in the ISIF Asia fund to: –  To give back to the Internet community by investing in ICT research &

development. –  To support research that can help Internet growth in our region. –  To facilitate networking and information building throughout the Internet

community.

•  714 submissions from 22 AP economies.

•  Around 1.8 million AUD has been allocated to 54 projects from 21 AP economies, showcasing innovation, cooperation, and technical knowledge. –  40 grants around 1,5 million AUD. Final reports published under

Creative Commons License. –  14 awards around 300k AUD. Awards funds plus travel grants to the

IGF. –  Economies supported: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia,

India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Micronesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Niue, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Cook Islands, Timor Leste, Kiribati, New Zealand, Tuvalu
