Issue 2 – 14th February 2017
Congratulations
I would like to let you know we have secured the services of Mr. David Young as our ICT Digital Technologies
teacher for the year and Miss Fiona Appledore as our Art, Health and Physical Education and Textiles teacher for the
year as well.
We are currently advertising for an additional fulltime primary generalist teacher.
Year Level Coordinators
If you ever have an enquiry about your child, at any time, please contact the College to arrange a suitable time to
speak with one of the teachers. If it is not a serious issue, it is always best to contact the Classroom Teacher first and
then if necessary the Year Level Coordinator. We would also request that all parents ‘check in” at the front office
when collecting children during class time, in order to reduce the disruption to other students.
The Year Level Coordinators are:
Prep – 6 Mrs. Colleen Petschel
Years 7-9 Mr. Steven Glover
Years 10 -12 Miss Nadia Wedding
As per last week’s newsletter if you have an issue that you are concerned about please contact me at the school.
Every Day Counts
This year we will be once again working with you to improve the attendance of our students. The bottom line is “if
they aren’t here we can’t teach them” and this has a significant impact on their academic and social success.
Our Attendance Officer will contact you once the attendance rolls have been marked in the morning for an
explanation for your child’s absence. If you know in advance that your child will be away we would appreciate a
written note or contact Leonie Clarke in the Office.

protection against:
Diptheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough) - one dose
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) - three doses
Varicella (chicken pox) - one dose
Parents/guardians of Year 7 students should look out for the vaccine consent card booklet coming home from
school with your child. You need to read the booklet and complete and return Part A regardless of whether
your child is being vaccinated at school.

Schools are authorised to provide basic parent/guardian contact details to local councils for this purpose.
Contact Ms. Clarke at school by 28th February 2017 if you do not want your contact details given to the
Hindmarsh Shire immunisation service.

All fun facts will go into a box and one fact will be selected out each week to be pinned on our map board. Everyone that enters a fun fact goes into the draw for a weekly prize.

Rainbow P-12 Long Sleeve Polo Shirt Order
After the heatwave we have just had, it seems a little strange to be thinking of
winter shirts. However, it takes about 3 weeks for them to be made so I will be
placing an order for the Rainbow P-12 long sleeve polo shirts at the start of
March. The long sleeve shirts still need to be specifically ordered for our
school and as such will only be ordered if demand meets order requirements.
If you would like to order one or more, please indicate on the slip below, which
size/s you wish to order and how many.
Shirts size 4 – 16 will cost $41; shirts size S – 6XL will be $48.
Please return the slip to the office by the morning of Tuesday 28th February.
Thank you.
