SYNERGY GUI & NAVIGATORPC CCTV TOUCH SCREEN SYSTEM CONTROLLER
The Synergy Graphical User Interface (GUI) program allows thecontrol of CCTV systems to be performed ‘on-screen’. Featuringeasy to use control of cameras and monitors, along with thenotification of alarms and logging of operator actions, all keyoperational tasks are just a ‘touch’ away. Unlike a traditionalkeyboard controlled system, with Synergy, pre-configured sitemaps can be utilised to confirm which cameras are available on thesystem and exactly where they are located. This can be used togreat effect, for instance, in conjunction with the graphical displayof activated alarms, to precisely indicate where they originate.
The Synergy GUI is easier to use than a conventional keyboardcontroller and its operation is quicker to learn. For example, it isfaster to point at a specific camera on a map, than it is to rememberthat camera 37 is in the south car park and then type this keyboardcommand in without pressing the wrong keys. And, since the tasksbeing performed are all displayed – the GUI method of CCTV systemcontrol minimises room for error.
In addition, with Synergy, operators new to the system can performcontrol tasks much more quickly than via the use of a keyboard andseparate list of camera numbers to search through.

With VSLD, system operators can be alerted to respond to a dead orunstable camera the moment a problem occurs. Whether caused bya hostile action or electro/mechanical failure, instant notificationallows a course of action to be implemented, helping to safeguardthe effectiveness of any security surveillance installation.
