Mt. Carmel Center for Healthy Living in 2015
We are pleased to introduce the Mt. Carmel Center for HealthyLiving. This new facility will be housed on the present campusutilizing the previous convent of the Franciscan Sisters who taught atMt. Carmel for 40 years. The Center will house the wellness programswhich have been developed over the previous two years. In addition tothe existing programs provided by Mt. Carmel, "incubator" space willbe available which will provide opportunities for other professionalpractitioners who share in the vision and mission of Mt. Carmel. The Convent served as an Assisted Living Facility following theclosure of Mt. Carmel School. The 4500 square foot structure will beredesigned to accommodate the Center's programming. Thearchitectural integrity of the Center will be reflective of the rest of thecampus and will be a fine addition to the neighborhood. Mt. Carmel isbreathing new life into the "convent."
Working collaboratively with these practitioners and other publicservice organizations, these partnerships will also enhance and attractbusiness while cultivating cultural and social opportunities. Mt. Carmelwill continue to become a beacon of health and wellness for integratedcare benefiting the residents of rural/frontier Southern Colorado.

Tips from Docs Get your blood pressure checked. High blood pressure has no symptoms.Left untreated, it can cause damage to your arteries, heart and other organs andlead to heart attack and stroke, among other complications. It's important tomonitor and treat risk factors for heart attacks, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes and smoking particularly in youngerwomen: A new study showed young middleaged adults are just as likely tohave a heart attack today as they were during the previous decade (seniorsexperienced a 20% decline). Women ages 30 to 54 are more likely to fare
worse from heart attacks than men, and take longer to recuperate. Accepting New PatientsWomen's WellnessFlu Shots Accepting all insurance including Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Comp,TRICARE and more
