When did you first get started in photography?I remember when I was 14 or 15 and thinking I needed something to entertain myself with, something that I could do alone, something I could focus on without having to depend on others. I found a way in photography. I often find myself looking through some old photos, re-membering those times with nostalgia and that’s exactly why I love to take photos. I can come back to that day instantly just by holding the picture.

What inspires you?Everything and every-one, you wouldn’t be-lieve the things I get inspired by. It can be something I see, some-thing I hear or something I do. It’s hard to pinpoint something in particular. I think is has to do with

what you see and the way you interpret the world in general. I love to wake up early to a bright and sunny morning, for example.

Do you prefer using film or digital?I prefer film but I wouldn’t mind taking pictures with a digital camera, but for me, film captures a dream and digital captures the real life. Why would I be inter-ested in real life if I can live in a dream?

How many cameras do you own?I don’t even know. I have inherited many cameras from my parents and I’ve bought some myself. I’d say around 13.

Do you plan on photog-raphy as a career? Not really, I take photos because I feel it is a natu-ral thing for me to do. I feel inspired by almost everything around me, from places to friends and family. I like to carry my camera everywhere even if I don’t touch it for a week. Photography

is my way of keeping the things and the ones I love close to me and perpetuate a moment forever. It’s a way of say-ing, “Been there done that,” and I can then, start crossing things off my to-do list.

Who's a photographer you'd like to know more about?I’d like to know more about Tim Walker. Actu-ally, I’d love to live in his world. Who wouldn’t, really? I remember pass-ing by some photos of Guy Bourdin when I was in school and felt over-whelmed by his pictures. I've always wondered where inspiration comes from for these guys.

What is your favorite photograph that you've taken? Please describe.I took this picture on a not so bright day. It was summer and we were taking some time off in northern Portugal and we decided to drive to Sanabria, Spain. I was feeling pretty melanchol-ic that day, it was dark

and cloudy. I stood on a rock with my camera, waiting for something in-teresting to happen. My boyfriend then manned up and entered the cold-ice water and stood there trying to gain some cour-age to take a dive. That was the only picture I took that day.

Who's your favorite pho-tographer?Tim Walker.

How would you describe your photography in 3 words? That is a very hard ques-tion, I believe I’m not the most unbiased person to answer it, but I would say that my photography is all about light, dreams and love.

How much planning goes into your underwa-ter shots?Actually, I don’t plan any of my pictures, but if I see something I like I try to capture it in the moment. Sometimes that’s just im-possible, so I ask people to do it all over again.

What one piece of ad-

vice you'd give to some-one starting off in pho-tography?I guess do your own thing. If you feel inspired by something and it is meaningful to you, then go for it. Never mind what other people tell you.

What/Who is your big-gest influence?My life.

If you could pick anyone to shoot for a day, who would it be and why?Besides Daniel, my favor-ite person in the world, I would like to spend my life shooting across Nordic Countries (Ice-land, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and so on) and everything at the Yellowstone National Park.

How do you currently feel about your photog-raphy?For me photography is somewhat cathartic. It’s just me and the way I see things.

How did you get started in photography? One day, when I was 8 years old, I was exploring through my parents attic and ran across my dad’s 35mm that he got from Vietnam during the war and I have been shooting ever since!

What's your favorite guilty pleasure?Listening to Metro Sta-tion, watching music videos, breaking all the driving laws in my neigh-borhood, and wearing weird costumes/animal masks when the room-mates are gone.

How did you start shooting for bands?I took photos at a The Devil Wears Prada show a long, long time ago and then became engulfed into the scene swamp.

What inspires you most?My mother, the best per-son I have ever known.

She was always smiling, even through a dis-ease that kept her from moving & talking. It’ll make you think differ-ently about pretty much everything. You got it better than you know. I love her till death and beyond.

If you had to choose 1 CD to listen to for 24 hours, what would it be?New Erections by The Lo-cust or The Island Galaxy by Fly Golden Eagle.

What's the greatest thing you've experi-enced in connection with your photogra-phy?The best of friendships and the greatest times of my life.

Is photography your career or just a hobby?Career.

If you could shoot anyone for a day, who would you choose?Bill Murray.

From your photo de-scriptions, you seem to travel a lot, how did you

get into that?I used to travel pretty often as a child with my parents and grandpa and just kept it going. I’m always looking to get away for a little bit. I also used to tour with some bands so that was a free ticket to see the country. Touring is so much fun, I’m really looking forward to hitting the road again with another band in the future.

What is one of your favorite shoots that you've done?I wouldn’t really con-sider it a shoot, but my favorite picture was on this island in the gulf in southern Alabama. I was touring with some friends in the band with Wings of Lead and we had a handful of days off so we just camped out on this island in the van with all the doors open. The island was beautiful, all the houses up on 20 foot stands and perfect white sand that made zippy noises when you dragged your foot across

it. That whole experience was by far my favorite time taking pictures.

What's your view on editing/retouching pho-tos?If you are shooting digi-tal you are dumb to not edit your photographs and retouching must be done when the style of shoot fits it. If you are looking to make money in any way from taking digital photographs you have to edit your photo-graphs. If you don’t be-lieve in editing, then you should shoot with film and even then you are still editing your photo-graphs because of devel-oping times. It’s a part of the art in my opinion.

What is your favorite photograph that you've taken? Please describe. It’s so hard to answer this question but as of late I guess I would have to say the one I did of my friends Phillip and Randi, best models I’ve had in a while.

What's a typical day like for you?

It is never a typical day, but it usually includes waking up late, thinking about doing my home-work, going on the in-ternet, editing/working, hanging out with good friends and sometimes drinking a good beer.

What's your favorite holiday and why?Christmas, nothing is more peaceful than tak-ing a walk in the snow while it’s snowing late at night when no one’s around. The serenity is mind blowing. Also, many great memories of being with my parents, decorating the Christ-mas tree, snowmen and hot chocolate with marshmallows.

What's your favorite thing to wear?Black skinny pants with black socks and black wingtips along with collared shirts, scarves, black leather motor-cycle rider jacket and of course a yellow banana hammock with rhine-stones.

How would you de-

fine what photography means to you?My life.

How did you get started in photography?Maybe at the age of 9 when I got my first point and shoot film camera, maybe at the age of 12 or 13 when I started using DeviantArt, maybe when I turned 15 and went to an art school. Maybe ear-lier, maybe later.

How do you feel about your 365?I basically love this proj-ect, no matter how cruel and time consuming it sometimes is. Sometimes I feel like I need to go take pictures instead of meeting a friend for ex-ample. I do not care if I come back all scratched and dirty anymore or if someone is watching me while taking self por-traits, which is a huge part of the project. It has always been hard to keep

up with something for a long time, no matter if it was a hobby, a place, or sometimes even a per-son, but I decided to fin-ish what I have started this time. Even though I often feel like taking a picture from some other day, I must say that I have not cheated yet; I never regret starting it or want to end earlier. I have learned a lot about my camera and myself, I have done the things that I could never imag-ine doing, I have ex-plored new places. What I am scared of the most is that the project ends before I am truly satis-fied with my photos.

Do you prefer working with film or digital?I am going to some sort of a photography school where we get to work with film very often, we photograph, develop and enlarge negatives, both black and white and color. I would like to use my own film cam-era more, but I always have something to do for school, and it is really

expensive and time con-suming to have it devel-oped somewhere else. I hope that I will be able to use more film after the end of my 365 more though.

Did your time in Stock-holm inspire you at all?Yes! It is a perfect com-bination of everything I love; Sweden, cold tem-peratures, water, islands, amazing architecture, fashion, lovely people. It is a kind of a city that you miss by just know-ing that you will have to leave.

How do you feel your photography has pro-gressed since you first picked up a camera?I do not really know where to start, but I do know a lot more about what I have to do to get a certain result. There is still so much to learn and discover, and it is exactly what I love about cam-eras.

What inspires you most?People with personal-ity, nature, colors, light, music, weather, dreams,

thoughts, and troubles; basically everything around and inside me.

Who are a few of your favorite photographers?

Annie Leibovitz, Paolo Roversi, Vee Speers, 333Bracket, Lissy Elle, Natalie Kucken, Nirrimi, Kalie and Kennedy Gar-rett, Rona Keller, Laura Zalenga, and Samantha Smith.

Who's someone you'd love to photograph? Cat Casino from Death-stars.

Do you plan on photog-raphy as a career? This is a tough question for me, even though I will technically be a 'photog-rapher' when I finish this school, I do not plan any-thing in my life. I am not sure if I want to do it for living, but I am sure that I could not live without it.

What are a few of your favorite band/singers? Diary of Dreams, Sen-tenced, Dark Tranquility, A Perfect Circle, and Ra-diohead.

Who's a photographer

you'd like to know more about?I think I know enough about everyone who I am really interested in, but I really enjoy reading Nirrimi's blog, it makes me feel like I get a tiny piece of who she is.

What's a song that puts you in a great mood? Diary of Dreams- Kin-drom.

What's your favorite book that you own?

I really like Wuthering Heights.

Where's your favorite place to shop?Stradivarius, Pull&Bear, Topshop, random smaller stores; H&M has always been one of my favorites too, even though everyone is shopping there nowa-days. I love Ikea too; just going there is always an adventure.
