On 15th June, Year 6 attended the informal swimming gala. All children

were very excited and we knew we had some good swimmers, however,

not even we could predict the outcome. Brampton started superbly

coming second in both the free style relays followed by a win in the

freestyle race (Lewis Preston). The excellent beginning set up a challenge

for the others, but every person stepped up to this, with the majority of

children coming first or second in their race. The encouragement by

every child was incredible; supporting every person there. After a long

hour of intense racing, it came to the final event the Squadron freestyle

relay, worth double points. This was possibly the most tense race of the

day. Expectations were high, and the team did not disappoint. At the

beginning it was neck and neck with only one stroke in it, but on the

fourth leg, Brampton began to pull in front, with excellent swimming

from all the team and some strong swimming from Jade Lucas, it left

Reece Courtney to bring us home in first place. Brampton waited

patiently to hear Fosters in 8th, followed by Barrington as well as

Belmont. Finally the top two results... Second... St Paulinus, therefore

resulting in an emphatic win for Brampton. Moreover, year six's

behaviour was outstanding and Miss Bennett was incredibly proud of

their achievements. This was not the only success of the day, next came

the Welling Partnership Cricket Competition. Again an exciting

competition, with some talented youngsters. With Matt Stock as captain

Brampton were 'on the ball' with the game and played with skill and

confidence. A superb catch from Reece Courtney and some good bowling

from Dheen Zia, Brampton were looking strong. We batted well with only

two people getting out in the whole afternoon (therefore losing 10 runs). It became aware to me that whoever won the last game against East

Wickham won the whole day. A close game, but with some good batting

Brampton were doing well. All teams scored over 600 runs in total.

However, as the results came in, it was East Wickham and Brampton left.

Brampton win with 710 runs! Another win to top off our successful day

at Brampton. A very proud Miss Bennett and some extremely happy

children! Well done Brampton, we really did Reach for the Stars!

SEAL HOME ACTIVITIESFORPARENTS TO USE - CHANGES

    Brampton BulletinPage 2

    Making change happen

At school, we will be talking to children about making a plan to change something that they are not happy

with in the classroom or playground.

Is there something that you and your child would like to be different in your home? Why dont you try to change it? Maybe its not arguing about getting up in the morning, or spending

more time together or taking the dog out for a walk regularly ...

You could make a plan to make it happen, in the same way we do at school.

    Here it is.

When you have tried out your plan review how well it went.

    Step 1

Imagine that the change has already happened and talk about what would be different what would you

see that was different? How would you feel different?

Step 2Agree one thing for each of you to do that will make the change happen.

    Step 3

Think about what might go wrong and how you will cope with any obsta-

    cles.

    Step 4

How will you know if it has changed? Could you put a chart up with a

tick or a sticker for each time things go according to plan?

    And most important of all

    Step 5

Think about how and when you will celebrate MAKING CHANGE HAPPEN!!!

    Street Dancing Success

On Sunday 19 June 2011, Teddy Langston, Jamie

Scott, Tate Rayner and Louis Rayner took part in the

Street Dance International Show at London's O2

Arena. There were 7 dance schools participating as

well as some well known street dancing champions!!

The boys danced with their school Streetwize and

made their parents very proud. They have been

working so hard over the past few weeks putting to-

gether their routine and they pulled it off with smiles on

their faces all the way through ! They were amazing and a credit to Brampton School.

    School Journey

Despite all the pre nerves and worries our Year 6 week away to

Blacklands Farm went well with all staff and children returning safe

and sound. Many thanks to Miss Fisher, Miss Cross, Miss Bennett,

Miss Carter, Mrs Coward and Mr Allen who accompanied the

    children.
