    PRESIDENTS REPORT

Welcome to the IHC February 2019 General Meeting.

Summarise the salient events for the month and outcomes of the previous committee meeting:

    National Veteran Motorbike Rally

The committee reviewed the IHC support requirements for the National Veteran Motorbike Rally to be held in the South West of WA in 2021. The IHC committee had previously given in principle support to enable the event to be held in WA.

The event will be organised and managed by an IHC Sub-committee which will soon be for-mally established, they will be required to report monthly to the IHC Committee. Funding for the rally will be undertaken by the sub-committee through fund raising activities and left-over monies from this year’s National Rally held in Tasmania.

    Neck Braces

Currently there are two neck braces in the new trailer, concern was raised about the potential for untrained person/s attempting to use the neck braces on an injured rider. The committee looked at several scenarios and determined that they should not be left in the trailer.

    Club Trophies

The committee reviewed the current list of club and individual presented trophies and vouchers that are awarded to members through events and contributions to the club. The list of trophies and awards for each financial year has now been finalised and will be available shortly.

    IHC Two Day Rally

Planning for the Two Day Rally is in the final stages of preparation and with the number of en-tries close to our maximum allowable. It is shaping up to be another great event. An update on progress and support activity requirements will be discussed in detail tonight during general business.

There is a significant amount of work that goes into organising and running this event and I cannot speak highly enough of the small band of members who make this annual event so great. Without this event the club would not meet its current annual budgetary expenditure as such it is very important that the event is a success. As there is still a lot to do in the days lead-ing up to and after the event. I ask that members put their hands up to support the Two Day Rally committee in any way possible.

    CAPTAINS REPORT JANUARY 2019

    Mid-week Run 9/1/2019

A good turn up 27 bikes for a short run to Capel via Preston Store. We stayed at Preston Store for 40 minutes chewing the fat then onto Capel arriving at 9am, this time the Late Jenny had some competition followed by Glen, then John & Jan. Still a nice ride through the Ferguson Valley lots of shade and no traffic, then onto Donnybrook taking the Goodwood Rd. We got to Capel, but the old girls beat us used up all mugs, so coffee in paper cups only. But still a good day out.

    New Year’s Run

Another top day, good to see some pre-war bikes and bikes from post war time. A short run of 140kms with a stop at St David’s Church in Worsley. We had a look at the history displayed on the church walls and enjoyed the peaceful bush setting. After we went to Honeymoon Pool down Pile Road and meandered to Ross & Faye’s house for lunch.

A big thank you for all your work. John & Leith for doing the scanning and Anne & Glenda for doing backup. All up a good day to be out. The mean speed for the event was 64.36 kmh. The first three placegetters with speed deviations are below.

    3rd George Todoroff (5.81kmh)

    2nd Bill Pike (5.56kmh)

    1st Bob Mitchell (5.46kmh)

    Busso Mid-week Ride Report 16/1/2019

A good rollup for today’s ride, 16 bikes, two with passengers on a perfect day for a ride. (Love these cool summer days)

Not so good a start with the news that Gary (from Busso) had fallen of his roof a few days back while cleaning his solar panels and is in hospital with some pretty serious injuries, get well soon Gary, me want to see you back on your bike soon.

We headed off to Donnybrook via Vasse Hwy. Ludlow Hithergreen Rd, Tutunup Capel Rd, Goodwood Rd to Donnybrook for morning tea where we enjoyed the usual coffee and pies and chinwag.

From there we split up a bit some going straight home, Burt going off to check out some place for the Two Day, the rest headed back via SW Hwy, Lowrie Rd, Boundary Rd, Gavins Rd, Bussell Hwy, (some of the Bunbury boys split here) Mallokup Rd. Ludlow N Rd, Tuart Dr, Layman Rd arriving at Busselton at about midday. A good ride on a good day.

    Peter W

    20 Jan Mandurah Mob Ride

It was a good turnout considering the weather. Yes, it was hot, got there had morning tea be-fore we took off to the Old Coast Rd were, we parted, I went to Bunbury and the rest went back via the estuary which should have the cooler. It was a short ride but still a good day out.

    23rd Jan Mid-week Run

This run was to Barry’s house in Balingup. Looked at the weather high winds and rain great combination. Better go to the start only 9 starters, so off we go. Had a stop at Kirup at this place we left Glen & Russell to go another way. We went to Nannup to catch up with the Busso Boys, but they tricked us and did not turn up and Barry turned up 1 hour too early, never mind he did enjoy his ride dodging fallen branches and getting soaked going the Blackwood Rd.

We did make it enjoyed Barry & Julie’s cooking, Had a look at Barry’s antique lathe and workshop. We all thanked Julie & Barry and made our way home. Still a good day out.

    Straya Day

The day was like a spring day cool & sunny. A good turnout of bikes & people with the locals cooking up breakfast doing a good job with the money raised going to improve their communi-ty.

This year we went Hurst Rd to Donnybrook then Sandhills Rd and had a 15-minute stop at the Brookhampton Hall. We were standing around then a local let us in for a wee stop.

After that went to Preston Valley Store to chew the fat. All up a short run being, it could have got very hot this time of year. A very pleasant ride.

    VCC Busselton 27th Jan

Another top day to be outside we had 4 bikes turned up, but we had a good ride, charged up with a cuppa. Had a ride around the back roads of Busselton then on to Ludlow Timber Mill for morning tea, interesting place good to see the sheds still standing. After we went to Capel then on to Busselton Club House, maybe a new club house next year. Thanks for the day out.

    Coastal Run

A good turn out again with the cool weather we are getting always a good run going south.

We started at the Capel Pub where we went to Annie Brook Wines, lovely place got a cuppa & scone. From there we went to the beach, but no swell not much to see solve the world’s prob-lems for 15 minutes then on to Darryl’s house for lunch always a good feed and look at his lat-est project.

From there went to Capel via Tuart Forest. Thanks to Darryl and his family & friends to keep this run going. Don’t forget Neville for doing backup.

    Busso Mid-week Run 6th Feb

We got 12 bikes turned up today a little warm, we had a meeting as to where to go, Brian was the Pied Piper and Terry 2 was tail end Charlie. So, Nannup was the go via Jarrahwood and the Cundinup S Rd and into Nannup to the Blackwood Cafe. Where we had a chin wag for a change. We went home via Mowen Rd and Sue’s Rd where we parted with the Busso Boys and we went to Capel to work out more rides.

All up a good day out.

    Kenny Britza 60th Birthday Run

Well done Kenny for putting on this run, with the help of friends & family made it a good day out. Started from Eaton Hall and meandered to Capel via Boyanup. Had a stop at Capel Cafe have a chat for a change then back to Bunbury via Gelorup lovely back roads and scenic ride through the new subdivisions. Got to Halifax where Sean was waiting for us, Leeann had fin-ished cooking, so sausage sizzle was on. Sean showed off a few of his cars and we looked at projects that have gathered. A big thank you for showing us your shed. Well done to all that helped make Kenny’s 60th Ride day.
