Public Speaking Finals

The public speaking zone results have been sent out to all participating schools. The speakers this year were of a high calibre making it a very tight competition. Whilst we did not have any students move on to the regional finals, it is great to announce that Alirah S (stage 1) and Cameron A (stage 2) will receive a highly commended award for their speeches. Well done to all students who participated in the public speaking competition this year.

Education Week Performances

On Wednesday our Band, Dance Teams and Skippers entertained shoppers at Salamander Shopping Centre. The audience was delighted by their performances and enthusiasm.

Our Band and Skippers performed at Biddabah Public School on Thursday. Biddabah welcomed our students and appreciated them sharing their talents during workshops.

Request for all School Maintenance

Local Trades Providers and Suppliers

The NSW Government has committed the largest investment in planned maintenance at public schools in the history of NSW. A record $1.3 billion is being spent on an ambitious delivery program, focused on employing local businesses and contractors across the state. To assist in addressing regional school maintenance issues and at the same time provide work for local trade’s persons and suppliers across the Hunter / Central Coast regions, over $100 million is being invested to upgrade and maintain our school infrastructure. Given this record spend by School Infrastructure NSW, you are invited to an Asset Management Unit industry breakfast briefing. This will provide information to existing and new contractors on how you can get involved. To find out more by attending our Industry breakfast register at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/industry-engagement-information-session-tickets-65766578607 or contact your Asset Management Unit on 4088 3500.

Tennis

“On Friday August 2, 6L started the Tennis program at Boat Harbour. We learnt how to serve, hold the racket, how to hit the ball back to the opposition and the rules of tennis. Thanks to Coral and Greg for teaching us the basics. We had a lot of fun and look forward to coming back for the next session.” By Lamarn.

PSSA Hunter Rugby Union

“Bastiaan O was recently selected to play for the PSSA Hunter Rugby Union team. The competition at the try outs was really high and Bastiaan had to put all his heart and knowledge in to be selected among the top 50 players to go to the ‘Possible and Probable’ try outs in a couple of weeks. Bastiaan is feeling confident because he was ready to give it his all and that he did. He will be heading to Western Sydney University for the PSSA State Cup from 27-29 August. Good luck Bastiaan!” By Bastiaan.
