Italesse bottles Press release november — 2012
TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN FOR THE NEW LUXURY DESIGN GLASS BOTTLE COLLECTION BY ITALESSE
Autumn 2012- a new season for Italesse.
Emballage - the International Packaging Exhibition to
be held in Paris from 19 to 22 November – will host the
official launch of the new Italesse collection of top-of-
the-range designer bottles.
High technology and design are the two main
components of Italesse, a well-established international
beverage and tableware brand that is now widening its
range with a new collection of luxury design bottles.
Thanks to the acquisition of Velvet Glass International
– a leading company in the production of bottles that
first introduced a design concept in the highly technical
and less creative bottle industry – Italesse intends to
strengthen its presence on international markets and
increase its offer to manufacturers of top quality spirits,
wines, oils and vinegars. This will be carried out
maintaining Italesse corporate identity, which focuses
on the top end of the market and on custom-made
projects for brands such as Veuve Clicquot, Laurent
Perrier, Mumm, Ferrari, Absolut, and which has
a strong core business dedicated to the hotel and to the
luxury catering industries.
Italesse bottles are manufactured using production lines
originally intended for premium perfumery in order
to obtain an extra white glass with the luxury properties
of velvet, and they stand out for their pure, thick
bottoms, their ecologically balanced weights, and their
moulds made of superior quality high-tech steels.
The sophisticated technical and formal features are
the result of state-of-the-art productive processes right
down to the final phases of moulding and customisation
of jewel bottles, which are made with Velvet Glass®
patented glass quality.

Three new bottles will be presented at the Emballage
expo, created under the new management of Italesse:
Fasad – designed by the Swedish architects and
designers Claesson Koivisto Rune – Liza and Tower
both created by Italesse’s technical department.
Fasad by CKR represents a true revolution in the
wine world, thanks to the absence of a shoulder. Fasad
– whose name means façade in Swedish – cannot be
compared to the classical Bordeaux or Burgundy, as it
masterfully combines traditional lines and contemporary
aesthetic elements in a product that is both innovative
and functional. The flat shoulder of Fasad is in fact
perfect for decorations and labels.
Liza and Tower have a completely different nature, as
they are two square shaped decanters with a distinctive
appeal, thanks to their fascinating technical and formal
details.
Liza is a 70 cl decanter which owes its elegance to the
lateral facets, designed to exalt the amber colours of the
spirits and, at the same time, to highlight the aesthetic
refinement of a model revisited by the Italesse design.
Tower is a decanter reminiscent of the most refined
packaging of premium perfumes and features a receded
nook at the base to exalt its minimal design, which is
made even more refined by the ridged side. The width
of the perfectly smooth front surfaces allows countless
decoration opportunities, for a product that has all the
characteristics to become the masterpiece of the whole
collection.
The same attention to detail is dedicated to the other
premium packaging solutions offered by Italesse,
including the international designs of Luca Nichetto,
who created three special bottles for Italesse – Courbe,
Ligne and Ligne B – created from the modelling
of one simple cylinder.
A different but equally interesting process is at the base
of Skyline, Time, Iron High, Tango, four bottles
designed by Archikò and very ergonomic thanks to their
dynamic shapes and to the meticulously created details
designed for a better hold while pouring.
Loft is another decanter created by Archikò with narrow
and slouchy shoulders that descend down to the bottom,
where the flat front and lateral surfaces are enclosed.
This is an apparently simple model, in which once again

is the detail, i.e. the rounded-off corners that refine the
rectangular section of the carafe, that makes all the
difference.
From spirits to wine with the two designs by Luca
Trazzi, Desire and Breathe are both made of antique
green glass. A mix of sinuous and elegant forms enwraps
the two 75 cl bottles. Both featuring a round base,
Desire mingles with the oval shape of its body, while
Breathe with the helical one of the median section.
These two propositions by Luca Trazzi -both defined
by the soft lines that offer a reassuring sensation- feature
a surface that is larger compared to traditional bottles,
thus facilitating decorations and final labelling.
