Days Two-Three: Kampala – Bwindi southern part Travel Time: Approx. 8 hoursNote that there is an option of flying for 1 hour &15 minutes.After breakfast, your guide will pick you from kampala and drive you to Bwindi impenetrable national park. The ancient rainforest of Bwindi spans 321 sq. km and boasts 90 mammal species, the infamous mountain gorillas, a range of primates, as well as 23 Albertine Rift endemic bird species, including the African Green Broadbill, the Bar Tailed Trogon etc. You will stop en route to look at the Royal Drum makers, see the Equator where you can stand in both hemispheres simultaneously. Day Three: Gorilla tracking This morning you will set off for gorilla trekking. Hiking through the thick, verdant, rainforest to eventually come across the gorillas in their natural habitat, is an amazing and unforgettable experience. Actual trek times can vary; these are wild animals after all. If time permits there are a diverse range of activities which are unique to Bwindi which you can participate in during the afternoon.Optional Activities:Batwa Trail: During this moving tour, the Batwa demonstrate hunting techniques; gather honey; point out medicinal plants and demonstrate how to make bamboo cups. Guests are then invited to the sacred Ngarama Cave, once home to the Batwa King to be entertained by traditional music and dance.Village Walk: Overlooking the imposing hillsides of Bwindi Impenetrable forest, with the mist swirling over the summits, this is one of the most dramatic settings for your cultural tour! Among others, meet a traditional healer, who not only treats the sick, but uses his knowledge to conserve and educate about the various medicinal plants.

Day Four: Bwindi – Rwanda Your safari continues as you depart for Rwanda arriving in time for lunch. Relax at the lodge and get ready for the following days second gorilla tracking.Accomodation: The Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is the new mid range lodge in the area and is perfectly situated for gorilla tracking in Rwanda. The lodge has 30 individual cottages built on 4 acres of land on the slopes of Mt Sabinyo. Being at altitude, it can get cold therefore each cottage has a fire in the room. The stone and thatch cottages each have en-suite facilities, a small lounge with a fire place and a private veranda. A restaurant and bar are also in place. The cottages are of a good size and are well positioned to give them privacy from each other. This is a great location with superb views of the volcanoes.

Day Five: second gorilla tracking in Parc de nationalToday you set off for gorilla trekking in Parc des Volcans. Ascending the slopes of the Virungas, you will be immersed in the dense, lush rainforest. The vibrant birdcalls and squabbles of the golden monkeys will eventually bring you to the gorillas in their natural habitat. Starring into the eyes of these gentle giants is a truly once in a lifetime experience.Returning in the afternoon you can go for the optional Ibyiwatu Cultural group performance, where you will be entertained, and learn more about Rwandan culture, music, dance, and drama. Or take a visit to the twin lakes before returning to the lodge in the evening.

Day Six: Ruhengere – KigaliToday your safari will continue to Kigali. The two-hour drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda takes you via the base of the magnificent volcanoes of the Virunga mountain range. Arrive in the afternoon and explore the city by visiting the Genocide Museum and the Caplaki Crafts Center.

Day Seven: Kigali – fly outHave breakfast and then transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
