lntroduction: This program focused on the procedure to write business case study. As a

management faculty it is mandatory for one to write business cases and conduct in classes forevolving knowledge during the class. C. K. Prahlad Research and lnnovation Cell llMS pune gave thisopportunity to the academicians to enhance their case writing skills and understand the types andstyle of writing. The FDP programme summarised the aspects like types of cases, approached to case

writing, material required to begin case writing and method of collecting data for live as we as case

based on secondary data. This FDP intended to orient participants towards developing their ownbusiness case with due attention to every stage of developing a worthwhile case.

Obiectives: The major objectives kept in mind while framing this Faculty Development programme

were as follows:

. To understand the concept of case?

. To begin writing a business case worth using in class

' To make participants familiar with techniques for different case research approaches.

o Facilitate researchers in writing business case

The programme was attended bV 6 participants. The Resource Persons was Dr. Tripti Sahu,Direcotr, C.K. Prahalad Centre for Research and lnnovation, lnternational lnstitute of ManagementStudie.

Dr. Tripti Sahu started with importance of writing business cases for management faculties, cases inacademic career, She explained the meaning of different types of cases and importance andappropriateness of various types of cases for teaching varied topics related to management. She alsoexplained the step by step procedure to be followed to write a case to the new case writers. She toldthat title, research question and brief purpose statement and identifying the protagonist of the case

are the primary things which a case writer needs to be clear in the beginning itself to make a

framework of the case. Though organisational chart is desirable for reference it may or may not berequired in the case depending upon the purpose of the study. A writer should also be well versewith the timeline of the events in the organisation to know the flow of the case. She brieflyexplained the contents of a case which is broadly divided into 3 parts, lntroduction, main body andconclusion, other subheading can be used as per the need of the case.

Conclusion: The Faculty Development Program was appreciated by one and all, as it added a newdimension of research and publication of faculties, who were enthusiastic to apply the newlyacquired skills in order to enhance their publication and class room teaching.

They allow students to step into theshoes of decision-makers in real organizations, and deal with the issuesma nagers face, with no risk to themselves or the orga n izationinvolved. Cases improve the students ability to ask the right questions, in agiven problem situation.

Case studies are stories that are used as a teaching tool to show theapplication of a theory or concept to real situations. Dependent onthe goal they are meant to fulfill, cases can be fact-driven and deductive wherethere is a correct answer, or they can be context driven where multiplesolutions are possible.

case studies are often used in exploratory research. They can help us generatenew ideas (that might be tested by other methods). They a. important wayof illustrating theories and can help show how diffelife are related to each other.

Cronbach's alpha, a (or coefficient alpha), developed by Lee Cronbach in 1951,

measures reliability, or internal consistency. "Reliability" is how well a testmeasures what it should. For example, a company might give a job satisfactionsurvey to their employees. High reliability means it measures job satisfaction, while low reliability means it measures something else (or possibly nothing atall).

Cronbach's alpha tests to see if multiple-question Likert scale surveys arereliable. These questions measure latent variables-hidden or unobservablevariables like: a person's conscientiousness, neurosis or openness. These arevery difficult to measure in real life. Cronbach's alpha yyi

It all comes down to using the right methods for statistical analysis, which ishow we process and collect samples of data to uncover patterns and trends. For this analysis, there are five to choose from: mean, standarddeviation, regression, hypothesis testing, and sample size determination. The faculty members found the sessions very helpful, p andinteractive. Faculty development programme on "Qualitative Research"

November 9-2019

lntroduction: This FDP's main focuses was on the richness and mystery of qualitative research, with

an emphasis on how to find your way through the morass of questions, experiences, events, data,

and oddities that arise during the research process. The FDP was especially usefulto those who wish

to conduct qualitative research where there is a need for an inductive research response that seeks

to address a range of social issues which cannot be answered exclusively with a quantitative

sta ndpoi nt.

Objectives: The major objectives kept in mind while framing this Faculty Development Programme

were as follows:

. To understand Qualitative research approach

. To make participants understand step by step process to conduct qualitative research

. To make participants familiar with different qualitative research approaches.

. Facilitate researchers in writing qualitative research work

The programme was attended by 11 participants. The Resource Persons was Dr. Tripti Sahu,

Associate DirectorC. K. Prahlad Research and lnnovation Cell, lnternational lnstitute of Management

Studies, Pune.

Dr. Tripti Sahu helped academicians and social science researchers to explore "how to" infuse their

research project with systematic data collection (such as mobile surveys; online ethnographic tools),

data visualization, and data sharing. The workshop will introduce a range of emergent data analysis

tools that allow the researcher to integrate multi-media analytical and data interpretation tools

(such as internet and mobile technologies) into a mixed methods and emergent research project.

She also explained about the data analysis through coding.

Conclusion: The Faculty Development Program was appreciated by one and all, as it added and

refreshed the essential research skills and helped rekindle research interests of our faculty members

who were enthusiastic to apply the newly acquired skills in order to enhance their Research.

Faculty development programme on "How to write research Paper"

November 2-2019

lntroduction: This workshop focused on the procedure to do research. As a researcher it is

mandatory for one to know the basics and have a core idea in order to satisfy the purpose of

research and establish an acceptable conclusion. C. K. Prahlad Research and lnnovation Cell llMS

pune gave this opportunity to the academicians to enhance their researching skills and understand

the methodologies. The FDP programme summarised the aspects relating to the literature review

framing objectives collection of data analysing it and finally framing it into a research paper. This FDP

intended to orient participants towards developing their own research plans with due attention to

every stage of research.

Objectives: The major objectives kept in mind while framing this Faculty Development Programme

were as follows:

. To understand what research is?

. How to do review of literature?

. To make participants familiar with techniques for different research approaches.

. Facilitate researchers in writing research work

The programme was attended by 13 participants. The Resource Persons lncluded Dr. Dhananjay

Bagul, Director SaiBalaji lnternational lnstitute of Management Sciences and Dr. Anand Deshmukh,

lnternational lnstitute of Management and Human Resource Development.

Dhanajay Bagul started with importance of research in academic career and took the class to the

journey of research, how it evolved and where it has reached in today's scenario.

Dr. A. Deshmukh covered the Research Fundamentals like lntroduction to RM, ldentification of

Research Problem, Formulating Research Objectives, Research Design and Literature Review' lt was

a refresher for the all the faculty members.

Conclusion: The Faculty Development Program was appreciated by one and all, as it added and

refreshed the essential research skills and helped rekindle research interests of our faculty members

who were enthusiastic to apply the newly acquired sl<llls in orderto enhance their Research.

Happiness Quotient for Management Employees

Date- l't Sept 2018

Faculty development Program was conducted on "Happiness Quotient for

Management Employees". It helped us to figure out that happiness cannot be

dependent on any Material, Humans, Situation and Event. It is a self driven process

where one itself is the source of infinite happiness.

The happiness Quotient comprises of many domain such as physical, mental,

financial, social etc., and the scale of happiness can be determined on the basis of

how much positive Vs. Negative emotional one experiences.

The session also conveys a message" Making a living is not same thing as making

a life" and happiness is something which is within us.
