“Guide the steps that Go astray”
Cross-dressing males in party gowns and false eyelashes are invading libraries, schools and bookstores and they’re on a mission. They're reading books to young children -books written with the intent to influence their hearts and minds and introduce preschool children to “gender fluidity” (the notion that one’s gender is chosen by an individual, not
imbued by God) -a construct fundamentally incompatible with our Catholic faith.
DRAG QUEEN STORY HOUR is scheduled on Wednesday (June 12th)
at the downtown Riverfront YONKERS PUBLIC LIBRARY.
This is not a good thing.
The Drag Queen Story Hour website explains their mission:
“DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models.
In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.”
When Drag Queen Dylan Pontiff spoke to the Lafayette Library Board of Control on behalf of DQSH he was even clearer when he stated “We are trying to groom the next generation”.
Rather than being an honest effort to help combat the bullying of those who are different (as often
claimed by supporters), Drag Queen Story Hour is part of a political agenda aimed at indoctrinating young children to accept, fully embrace and celebrate transvestitism, transgenderism and all LGBTQ lifestyles as normal.
To be clear, the objection to Drag Queen Story Hour is not a question of gay rights or a judgement of the people who make up the LGBTQ community - the very real people who were lovingly made by God and whose lives have the same sanctity and intrinsic value as everyone else. Nor, is it a suggestion that everyone in that community is involved in the radical political agenda that spawned this program. Rather, it is a denouncement of a chosen lifestyle which violates the tenants of our Catholic faith and in particular, this program organizers’ strategic plan to corrupt the innocence of children in public places like schools and libraries.
On this Pentecost Sunday, we are reminded of the mandate to proclaim and defend our faith. It is more important than ever that we understand we ALL have an obligation to do just that.
In the past, our parish has been wonderfully responsive in speaking up against attacks on our faith. Today, we need to once again make our voices heard. Please contact:
SANDY AMOYAW, Branch Administrator of the Riverfront Library (914) 375-7947
EDWARD FALCONE, Director of Yonkers Libraries [email protected]
MAYOR MIKE SPANO at [email protected]
and let them know that subjecting our children to political agendas that assault their innocence and violate our Freedom of Religion cannot be tolerated.
This program is offensive to Catholics and an attack on our faith. It has no place in our Public Library.

Volunteers are an invaluable part of our parish community.
Our Parish Office needs volunteers to answer phones, schedule Masses & receive visitors. Prior office experience is helpful, but a genuine desire to help your fellow parishioners,
the ability to listen and a welcoming attitude is most important. Volunteers should be easy to understand on the phone and comfortable
taking messages and providing information to callers. Training will be provided.
A volunteer is also needed to help keep our website and social media current. This can be done from home and will only require about an hour a week.
Please call the Parish Office at 963-7474 for more information.

Next weekend our second collection is a combined collection to support
THE CHURCH IN LATIN AMERICA and CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS.
The collection for the Church in Latin America…
For many in Latin America and the Caribbean, a rising secular culture, difficult rural terrain, and a shortage of ministers present serious obstacles to practicing the faith.
Your support of the collection provides lay and youth leadership training, catechesis, priestly and religious formation, and other programs to share our faith with those who long to hear the
Good News of Christ. To learn more about how you can make a difference, please visit:
www.usccb.org/latin-america
The Catholic Home Missions Appeal…
Right now, over 40% of dioceses in the United States are considered mission territory because they are unable to fund essential pastoral work in their communities.
Your donations support programs, such as religious education, seminary formation, and lay ministry training, to build vibrant faith communities right here in the United States. Find more information at www.usccb.org/home-missions.
Saint Anthony of Padua The miracle: Sermon to the Fishes
The story goes that one day Anthony went to Rimini where there were a lot of heretics. He started to preach, but they did not want to listen to him, and they even mocked him.
In a dramatic gesture, Anthony went to the seashore, saying, “Because you show yourself unworthy of God’s word, behold, I turn to the fishes so that your unbelief may be shown up more clearly”. As he spoke of God’s care for those creatures that live in the waters, a shoal of fish swam near to the bank, partly thrusting themselves out of the water and appearing to listen carefully. At the end of his sermon, the Saint blessed them and they swam away. In the meantime, so deep was the impression made upon the onlookers that many hurried back to the city imploring their friends to come and see the miracle, while others burst into tears asking forgiveness. Soon after a great multitude gathered around the Saint, who exhorted them to turn back to God. So through this sermon, the city of Rimini was purged of heresy.
