Progress Reports Mailed

For the first assembly of the year, Jane Addams

High School welcomed Joe “The Trick Star”

Odhiambo, originally from Kenya in East Africa.

His humble upbringing taught him the drive and

work ethic which has allowed him to become the

best in his clad. Odhiambo now communicates

these tough life lessons and experiences to his

audience. He strongly believes that even though

we start the race in different places, at the end of

the day, what you put in is what you will get back.

Joe shows the students that all people can succeed

in life through five attributes Joe believes in:

1. Faith in Yourself: Believing in one’s ability

regardless of what others say.

2. Persistence: Ability to endure hardship,

keep working hard until you attain your goals.

3. Patience: Working long hard hours because

you understand what it takes to succeed

through practices.

4. Working Hard: Understanding that there is

no short-cut to anywhere worth going.

5. Responsibility: Follow through with what

needs to be done to get the job done.

Ageless Eye Care is a fully licensed

a comprehensive eye exam (including

dilation) as a means to provide early

detection and prevention of eye dis-

eases. Each student received an ex-

amination of visual function and

glasses prescription followed by a

Once school starts, we understand that orien-

tation may seem like it was a million years ago

— in light of this we would like to take this

opportunity to review the school dress code

policy that may have been forgotten since your

orientation session.

DRESS CODE

Students are required to be in uniform when

they walk through the door every day. Shoes

should be black DRESS SHOES. Your shoes

may not be canvas or tennis shoe styles. Exam-

ples were shown to you at orientation, if you

don't remember what those examples were,

see Ms. Suggs and she can show them to you

again.

Your shirt must be tucked into your pants

which must be belted and AT YOUR WAIST.

We should not be able to see your undergar-

ments and any under shirt should be solid

white or black..

Your pants should be black and loose fitting

dress pants in a boot-cut type of style. Skinny

style pants or pants tucked into boots are

NEVER acceptable.

STUDENT ID

Each student is issued a school ID card with

their picture, along with a JAHS assigned lan-

yard. The student ID card and JAHS assigned

lanyard are part of the JAHS uniform and must

be worn around the neck outside of the shirt

at all times while in the building.

Proper uniforms are required at all times

in order to attend class. Students who

are out of dress code are subject to disci-

plinary actions at discretion of admini-

stration.

Jane Addams is very proud of all our stu-

dents but especially those whom demon-

strate dedication to achieve Honor Roll.

Congratulations to all of our Honor Roll

students for 1st Quarter.

Reverse The Trend is an Anti-Bullying concert and assembly created by the young band Reverse

Inspired by Reverse Order, Jane Addams held their very own “Jane Addams Got Talent.” Our stu-

judges chosen at random we give you the winners for the 2015-2016 Jane Addams Got Talent:
