Inspiration
How It All Began•Jane has loved animals every since she was a youngling. It all began with a stuff monkey she received as a gift at the age of 2.•She still has it to this day.
Getting to Kenya
•Jane’s friend invited her to travel to Kenya with her. It had always
been a dream of hers to go Africa. This was her chance and she was
not going to miss it.•She saved all her money to go by
waitressing
Her Discovery
• In October 1960 while Jane was observing 2 chimpanzees, who are now known as David Graybeard and Goliath, they took the leaves off of twigs and used to go get food. They made a tool.
• Humans thought that they were the only species to use and make tools.
• Dr. Louis Leakey said after her discovery, “"Now we must redefine tool, redefine man, or accept chimpanzees as humans."
WHAT SEPARATES US FROM APES ?
•We all think we are different and unique. In this interview with Jane Goodall she talk about what separates us from apes. What does separate us? Our look, hair and over all species. But are there some things alike?
