    Scotty junior Cody King had a great weekend at the Cut

    Bank Invitational this past Friday and Saturday, winning

    his way into the 138-pound title match before losing

    to Choteaus J.J. Werdal by an 8-4 decision to place

    second. Scotty senior Joe Doney won the heavyweight

    consolation match for a third place nish, and overall the

    Scotties placed 7th, showing major improvements from

    just a season ago. Top Ten Team scores 1. Havre 238,

    2. Flathead 217, 3. Choteau 191.5, 4. Eureka 131, 5.

    Great Falls High JV 111.5, 6. Ronan 108, 7. Glasgow

    102,8. Cut Bank 95, 9. Townsend 91.5, 10. Chinook 91.

    The regular wrestling season is now over the halfway

    mark; next on the schedule is the always-tough Cowboy

    Invitational in Miles City this Friday and Saturday, January

    16th & 17th, which draws some top teams from Montana

    Wyoming, South Dakota and North Dakota. Following that

    the Scotties will be wrestling a dual in Sidney, a Chinook

    Mixer, the Harlem Invitational, the Malta Mixer and wil

    conclude the regular season with the Malta Invitational

    The Eastern B/C Divisional Tournament will be held in

    Shepherd on Saturday, February 7th to see who qualies

    for the State Tournament in Billings February 13-14.

    USDA Rural Development Montana StateDirector Anthony Preite announced that USDAis soliciting applications for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015Community Connect Program grants. he programprovides grants to establish essential broadbandservices in rural communities where it is currently

    not available. Many rural communities in Montana do not haveaccess to broadband, said Preite. USDAs CommunityConnect Grant Program ensures that rural residentshave the ability to run businesses, get the most fromtheir education, and benefit from the infinite servicesthat fast, reliable broadband provides. he minimum amount of grants awarded will be$100,000; the maximum is $3,000,000. he deadlinefor applications to be submitted is February 17, 2015.     Te Montana PRCA Pro Rodeo Circuit and the

    Montana High School Rodeo Association have joined toorganize the first High School Rough Stock Challengeat the Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals in Great FallsJanuary 16-18. Te brainchild of the Montana Pro Rodeo CircuitBoard, the Montana High School Rough Stock Challengewill be the very first event of its kind at any PRCA rodeoin the nation and intends to engage youth and encouragethem to participate in the sport of pro rodeo. Te programwill expose youth to a larger audience and help them get astart in rodeo.

    Te top six high school contestants in the barebackand saddle bronc riding will compete through the threeday event. Tree bareback and three saddle bronc riderswill compete on each of the first two days, with the topthree coming back on Sunday. Tis is a Montana Pro Rodeo program to help increaseyouth involvement in the sport of rodeo and we are excitedto be the first and only Professional Rodeo Circuit tocome up with such a program involving youth and will beimplementing it into the 36th annual MPRF, says Jim Croff,president of the Montana PRCA Pro Rodeo Circuit Board.
