New Year, New Studies!

Happy New Year! 2022 is finally here and with it some opportunities to study God’s word. Unlike, the beginning of 2021, we start this year without the restrictions which only allowed us to assembly once a week. So, here are a few of the new studies we will see this year: In our auditorium class we will be studying the fifteen periods of Bible history with Ray Sherman. As Paul once wrote, “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17); and, “these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction…” (1 Cor. 10:11). Our faith becomes stronger when we are exposed to the word of God. “These things” that “were written for our instructions” refers to the accounts (continued inside)

New Year, New Studies!

(Continued from front) recorded in the Old Testament. Also, “For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Rom. 15:4). Thus, Ray will bring us classes that will not only help us to see how the Bible can be put into historical sections, but also strengthen our faith. Next, we will begin new studies during our AM and afternoon worship assemblies. In the morning service we will be exploring the book of Revelation for the first part of the year and then the letter written to the Ephesians for the rest of the year. In the afternoon service, starting January 23rd, we will start a series entitled, “101 Supposed Contradictions of the Bible.” This series has a two-fold purpose: First, for those who are convicted that there are no contradictions in the Bible, I will present evidence to support their belief. Second, those who are new to the faith will be able to see that there are no contradictions in the Bible. Finally, on Wednesday night, January 5th, we’ll start a textual study through the gospel according to Matthew. So, with a New Year, comes new opportunities to study God’s word. Let’s not miss these occasions to come together in 2022 to strengthen our faith!
