Ywada involves herself in charity work making appearances at charity events and has also released a track “Pink and White” for her charity “The Breast Health Initiative”. She also spent an afternoon with girls of the “Embrace Girls Foundation” at the Kelsey Pharr Elementary School in Miami, Florida and read an excerpt from the “Rise of the Guardians” book and discussed the importance of education and how to embrace their girl power! Her third single and release entitled “Why?” was released at the end of 2012 and sets the stage for her official album release which will be sometime in early 2013. The album will be entitled “Me Against Love.” We look forward to hearing more from such a gifted artist and we commend her for her work with various charity organizations.

Ywada had her debut in 2012 and also blessed the inside of the May 2012 issue of Entrigue Magazine. Ywada soon became a fan favorite to many listeners of R&B soul music across the world when she dropped her first single entitled “Count Me Out” which received a lot of air play on Internet and College radio networks as well as on Music Choice. “Count Me Out” was featured for several weeks on iTunes R&B/Soul home page under the “Hot Singles” and “Artist to Watch” categories. Ywada joined fellow R&B artist such as Erykah Badu, Fantasia, El Debarge, Charlie Wilson, and others for Funk Fest. Ywada had her live performance in Tampa/St. Pete, Florida in the summer of 2012. Ywada’s success continued with shows alongside Fantasia Joe, Ruben Studdard, and Anthony David. Ywada’s second single entitled “Thought I Was Loved” and her debut of her first music video for “Thought I Was Loved” came shortly after and continues to be under iTunes “Hot Tracks” category, and is currently iTunes “Editors’ Choice Pick”.

BUSINESSWould You Do It Again?

By Kandia Haynesworth

Now that 2012 is officially behind us, entrepreneurs should make it a priority reflecting back on last year. Examining your business's practices, strategies, profits and losses will place you directly in the “know” zone. Knowing what your decisions have caused, makes deciding whether to continue or not, easy. Before you read any further, consider if your end results for 2012 makes you happy? Let's review why you feel the way you do.

I recommend investing time into reviewing your marketing and advertising strategies over the next two weeks. Review your campaigns and promotions, but most importantly the results it produced. Look at your expenses, rate of new sales, obtaining new clients and consider what is necessary to reproduce a successful game plan or what needs to be done to prevent loss and failure.

Before you become discouraged by homework, make it simple to joggle your thoughts by taking three separate sheets of lined paper and title them with HAPPY, UNHAPPY and GAME PLAN. Next, number it. You've probably guessed that I am recommending that you write down the practices, systems in place, and strategies that have produced these results. The Game Plan should state what you've done to have caused it. This makes answering the question “would you do it again?” quick and simple. No one works towards practicing a strategy that have failed them! Especially, when it stares you in the face! If your results were successful, write down what made it work, how you plan to repeat the process or make it better for a greater outcome.

You can use this to develop goals for your business this year as well. Simply list your goal on the HAPPY list. Then write down what it is you need to do to achieve it on your GAME PLAN list. In some cases, you may not know what the game plan needs to be to achieve your goal. I recommend writing down your plan to find out. It may be that you need to do research, find a mentor, watch videos, volunteer in an environment where you can obtain knowledge and skills that will ultimately help you enable you to reaching your achievement.

This practice works well for examining your business internally. Write down what your business needs on the HAPPY list. Next, state what the requirements would be to obtain. Your needs could be upgrading your business from a sole proprietary to a LLC., hiring an assistant, developing a website, or reducing expenses. Achieving anything that your business needs not only gives you peace of mind but it

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE YEAR END FISCAL CLIFF BILLBy Gordon Jackson

Most Americans will pay higher federal taxes in 2013 under the new agreement. One reason is because for the past two years wage earners contribution to social security was only 4.2%, which was lowered in 2011 to put more money in wage earner’s pockets. The rate goes back up to 6.2% this January, meaning for example Americans earning $30,000 a year will face an average tax increase of $461 per year, households earning between $40,000 and $50,000 a year face an average tax increase of $579 this year and households making between $50,000 and $75,000 a year will face an average tax hike of $822. Employees will take home a little less with each paycheck. The richest households face the biggest tax hikes, The income tax rate rises to 39.6% from 35% for individuals making more than $400,000 and $450,000 for married couples. Those earning $113,700 (Social Security Maximum) will pay an additional $2,280 per year. Estates will be taxed at a top rate of 40% (35% in 2012) with the first 5 million in value exempted for individual estates and 10 million for family estates. The Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) which is designed to make sure the very wealthy pay at least some income tax will be adjusted for inflation. This prevents nearly 60 million middle and upper-middle income taxpayers from being hit with a tax bill averaging $3,000. The new agreement will also extend tax benefits to the middle class wage earners. The Child Tax Credit, The Earned Income Tax Credit, The College Tuition Credit, deductions for $250 of class room expenses are amongst the tax credits that will be extended for five more years. In addition, jobless benefits for long term unemployed, has been extended for one year. The agreement does not address any increase in the nation’s debt ceiling, which combined with the delay of automatic spending cuts - sets up the distinct possibility of another cliff-like battle in February. President Obama states, “While neither Democrats nor Republicans got everything they wanted, this agreement is the right thing to do for our country”.

It was at the young age of seven when Star Murphy first realized her potential and her desire to perform as a singer. From performing her solo act at a major Broadway production in middle school to joining the choir and becoming a founding chapter member of “Women of Music”, Murphy knew she was on the right track. Teaming up with Joe Major & DJ Wheezy, Murphy kept close to the entertainment game by becoming a promoter bringing celebrities to Nashville to perform at college events until the time came for her to step on the stage herself to share her vocal gifts to her fans and anyone that would listen. Murphy has opened up for such artist as Bobby V, Yo Gotti, Lloyd, Webbie, Boosie, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, Big K.R.I.T, Plies, and R. Kelly and many others. With her fan base expanding from local to national Murphy was able to gain additional support from mixed tape DJ’s to various DJ’s from several radio stations including “Music Choice” requesting to spin her music specifically with her first single from 2010 “Swagg On” which featured Waka Flocka Flame. The single would eventually gain over twenty thousand downloads from hotnewhiphop.com and gaining further recognition. Murphy and her team soon after released the official video for her new single “Let’s Do It”.
