AsfarasIknow,thisistheonlyfaucetsoldtodaythatcomesinanon-frostfreeversionwithabuilt-invacuumbreaker.Thefirstthingtoknowaboutthesefaucetsisthatthereisnoneedforanexteriorvacuumbreaker.Checkoutthevideoclipbelowformoreinformationonthebenefitsofthisproduct,andforinformationonhowtoidentifyit.
Theotherthingtoknowaboutthesefaucetsisthatitmightbedifficulttowinterizethem.Therearetwopossiblewaystowinterizeanexterior
faucet:iftheinteriordrainvalveforthefaucetislocatedhigherthanthefaucet,thedrainvalveisopenedtoallowairintothepipe.Airreplaceswaterinthepipe,andwaterdrainsoutofthefaucet.Noproblemthere.
Iftheinteriordrainvalveislocatedlowerthanthefaucet,however,thefaucetneedstobewinterizedbyhavingwaterdrainoutoftheinteriordrainvalve.Airmustentertheexteriorfaucettoreplacethewaterinthepipe.WithanArrow-Breakerfaucet,thiscan’thappen.Theintegralvacuumbreakerpreventsairfromgettingintothefaucet.I’veemailedthemanufactureraboutthis,andtheyweresomewhatbaffled.Theysaidthattheonlywaytogetwatertodrainoutofthepipewiththesefaucetswouldbetouseawrenchontheflatsofthebonnettotakeitapart,thusallowingairintothepipe.
