When you work in a smaller business, you wear many hats. Every day can bring on a new challenge that you weren’t planning on that day. Me: What was the biggest change to the industry over the years? Chris: Definitely the technology. When I started we manually calculated the interest when a loan payment was made and every night ran the member ledger card through a huge ‘posting machine’ to update their transaction. I’m sure those machines are antiques now! I feel our CU has done an excellent job on keeping up with technology services being offered to our members…including Mobile Deposit that was just rolled out the end of December. Me: What will you miss about it? Chris: I’ll miss the member relationships I’ve built over the years along with the many friendships formed in the credit union com- munity. The Credit Union family is definitely a special group of people…always a “People Helping People” atmosphere! Me: Anything else you’d like to share? Chris: This has truly been a memorable experience. I feel confi- dent that over the 42 years of my tenure, I have served the mem- bership of Fond du Lac Credit Union to the best of my ability and I know I’m leaving a strong and growing credit union in good hands. We wish Chris many years of enjoyment and leisure! Taking Chris’s place as President is Scott J. Roesch. The name may be a bit familiar. Scott worked for Fond du Lac Credit Union for just over 12 years, starting as the Accounting Manager and ending as Executive Vice President. He left FDLCU in February 2013 to take the position of President for Service Credit Union in Green Bay. “I had no idea when I left Fond du Lac Credit Union for the opportunity to become President of Service Credit Union that the experience would prepare me to return,” Roesch said. “I was actively involved in the planning and execution of the new facility in 2010 so it’s kind of like coming home. I am very excited to return to Fond du Lac Credit Union. I know I will have big shoes to fill as President, but with our great employees, I know that we will continue to expertly serve our members.” Board of Directors Election The nomination deadline for new candidates for the Board of Directors has passed. As a result, the nomination committee has submitted the following names for re-election: Jeremy VanDeraa Mark Vande Berg All incumbents will be officially appointed for another three year term at the Annual Meeting. Board Member Dave Gustavus has decided not to run for a new term. Credit Union President, Scott Roesch will be appointed temporarily to the Board to fill the vacancy. New Year - New Things For FDLCU

After 42 years of service to Fond du Lac Credit Union, Chris Rockweit has retired.

I had the chance to ask Chris a few questions about her time with the Credit Union as she was preparing for the transition.

Me: When did you encounter chal-lenges?

Chris: Basically….every day.

Chris: I’ll miss the member relationships I’ve built over the years along with the many friendships formed in the credit union com-munity. The Credit Union family is definitely a special group of people…always a “People Helping People” atmosphere! Me: Anything else you’d like to share? Chris: This has truly been a memorable experience. I feel confi-dent that over the 42 years of my tenure, I have served the mem-bership of Fond du Lac Credit Union to the best of my ability and I know I’m leaving a strong and growing credit union in good hands. He left FDLCU in February 2013 to take the position of President for Service Credit Union in Green Bay.

as President, but with our great employees, I know that we will continue to expertly serve our members.”

Board of Directors Election The nomination deadline for new candidates for the Board of Directors has passed. As a result, the nomination committee has submitted the following names for re-election: Jeremy VanDeraa Mark Vande Berg

All incumbents will be officially appointed for another threeyear term at the Annual Meeting. Board Member Dave Gustavus has decided not to run for a new term. Credit Union President, Scott Roesch will be appointed temporarily to the Board to fill the vacancy. Anyone interested in completing the remaining term of this position should contact Nomi-nating Committee Chairperson, Mark Vande Berg. Welcome!

We welcome two new employees to Fond du Lac Credit Union! Megan Gysbers joined us on November 9th and is our new Director of Accounting. Megan has a Bachelor’s degree in Ac-counting & Finance and worked at Altra Federal Credit Union for 11 years before moving to Fond du Lac. “I was recently married to my wonderful husband Grant,” says Megan. “We enjoy making our house a home in our spare time. I love reading and enjoy watching sports, mainly football, basketball and hockey. I come from a wonderful family. I’m the oldest child and have two sisters and a brother.” Sarah Scharf joined us on December 1st as our new Accounting Associate. Sarah and her husband also moved to Fond du Lac from La Crosse where Sarah also worked for Altra Federal Credit Union for 8 years! Sarah is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Human Resources. When asked what she likes to do when not at work, Sarah said, “In my free time I love to read, attend country concerts and travel with my husband, Erich. We also love Packer games!”

Remember - Tax refund checks payable to two parties (for example, John Smith and Jane Smith) must be signed by each person listed on the check!

Direct Deposit Set-up? Ask Us First!

Whether you are setting up Direct Deposit for your payroll or you’re expecting a tax refund and would like to skip the paper check, it’s really important that you have the exact numbers for the funds to find their way to your account. Close isn’t close enough! The Routing number is kind of like the financial institution’s address. It will help the direct deposit get to the Credit Union. Then there’s the account number - here’s where it gets tricky. The account number has to be exact or the funds get returned to where they came from. The best way to make sure your money will make it to the correct account is to check with a Member Associate before you submit any forms. They will confirm that the account number is formatted to allow the funds to be deposited into your savings, checking, spare, household - whichever account you choose.

IRA Contributions (Deposits) for 2015may be made through April 15, 2016

Don’t forget to let us know so your Credit Card and Debit Card will continue to be

accepted wherever your travels take you!
